Obama in Colorado pushing student loan relief

(CNN) – President Barack Obama took his economic relief plan on the road to Colorado Wednesday, highlighting new measures designed to help college graduates manage student loan debt.

One of the president's measures will push up the start date for more favorable terms on a special loan repayment program based on income. Another measure is designed to encourage graduates with two or more kinds of federal loans to consolidate them and get a small break on interest rates.

So the Obama plan is an attempt to swing the college voters, bail out college voters with working middle class tax payer dollars. Looks like another FAILURE to add to the long list of Obama FAILURES.

Sorry Obama Biden 2012 and Pa out-of-work, no matter who is president, this country will be saddled with high unemployment for many years. It will be years (if ever) that we see 4-5% unemployment again. Thank your GOP clowns for providing tax breaks to large corporations that made it advantageous to outsource millions of jobs to India and elsewhere. These jobs will never return. Or listen to your current front-runner: "if you don't have a job, blame yourself".

another issue is that many loans, these days, are private, and often have very high interest rates.

This appears to be too little, too late, and too reactionary for anyone paying attention to consider it an expression of understanding. More politics, unfortunately.

Obama/Biden 2012, etc. – what's wrong with taking out the banks as middlemen in these transactions, saving these students a little money along the way? Haven't the banks taken enough of our money? $700 Billion in TARP, another $16 Trillion funneled through the fed to prop them up. Bank of America set for another bailout? I think they have enough. Heck, they're going to be paying themselves the biggest bonuses yet this year, all because they make money out of thin air for themselves, and only themselves. So they lose a percentage of student loans? I don't see a problem with this. But that's just me.

DHS – actually this was set to be enacted in 2014. The President just gave the well needed relief a little earlier is all, because congress wouldn't. That's some congress, taking care of the banks instead of "we the people," but that's a story for another day.

If you spent half as much time looking for a job as you do misinforming those that read your posts you probably wouldn't be unemployed. Meanwhile, make sure you thank the President for your unemployment check.
Obama gets it and Obama cares, even if no one else does.
    Obama 2012. Period.

Dude, give a rest. You sound like a broken record. Besides, no one is paying attention any of your posts. If you go to Fox News Website, you will have a better chance getting some respect.

It's really very simple how you argue with someone who is spewing knee-jerk I-hate-this-because-Obama-proposed-it rhetorical vomit: just keep repeating the question...

"Does the next generation of American youth need student loan rellief less than Big OIl needs $4B in yearly subsidies while consistently making record profits despite a recession?"

This question actually works for a whole bunch of other issues too. Don't respond to their nonsense in any way, shape or form other than to repeat the question. Enjoy....the results are usually pretty amusing.

A right wingnut asked if we checked our stocks lately. When President Obama took over in January 2009, the Bush republicans economy had drvien the stock market from over 14,000 to under 8000. Yesterday, the market closed over 11,500. It is time for republicans to take a 'long walk off a short pier.'

What about the opposite side (GOP) don't they need college votes? Why are they not showing even a single sign to give a hand of help? Doing what it is compulsory is not bailing out at all. It is taking responsibility.

@ Bill – This country can have jobs and prosperity with the loss of only one more job; Obama should resign effective immediately. Looks like we will have to wait until January of 2013.

If republicans think that the best way to swing voters to their failures is by attacking the middle class, the poor, the minorities, the seniors, teachers, veterans, policemen, firemen, nurses, government workers, private sector workers, I can only say, "Good luck with that."

Do you Obama-haters out there realize what your words sound like? All you do is deliver hate speech, and no facts. What conclusion do think people should reach about the reasons for your hate when you provide no facts to support your criticism.

Yes, you have posted a litany of your alleged facts. But, when people refute them as blatant lies, and cherry picking of the facts, you have *no* answer. All you do is spread lies and hate. What conclusions should people draw about you?

He is throwing you a bone now and you will have to eat that bone for years to come. Meanwhile Obummie dines on filet mignon. What chumps.

    ------
You have your GI Bill benefits because you served your country and put your life on the line. For that, you have the thanks of all Americans – the GI Bill is the least we can do.

On the other hand, why should we bail out those who didn't make the sacrifice you did?

  24. Tired of Obama

It's amazing how Obama continues to villify the rich (please tell me how much I have to make to be rich), and the big greedy Wall St. corporations (um, I think no one would have a job without them). Government's roll, acccording to Obama, is to ensure citizens dependence on government to keep them alive. His policies remove the reasons accept the consequences of our own actions or inaction. It instead creates an atmosphere of entitlement where citizens think that they have to be "taken care of" just because they live there. Indeed, his rhetoric and policies seem to be just a few steps away from communism.

    ----------
For what? Doing that would only increase the annual deficit and add to the national debt. I don't think an *individual* is going to create millions of jobs. Do you? Why reduce taxes on corporations when the 100 largest of them pay absolutely nothing due to all of the corporate loopholes?

If you want to cut spending, then cut the corporate welfare that executives use to pay themselves mulit-million dollar salaries. If you were serious about cutting spending and reducing deficits, then you should be appalled that US tax dollars are used to pay the foreign taxes of these corporations that have been shipping manufacturing jobs out of the country. Whomever set that up needs to put on trial for treason.
