Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN) - When asked if he would inject any more of his own money into his cash-strapped presidential campaign, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman would not draw any lines in the sand Sunday.
A reporter asked Huntsman, the son of a chemicals tycoon, if he would consider making another cash loan to his campaign.
Washington (CNN) - Herman Cain may be battling with Mitt Romney atop the Republican presidential polls, but Romney remained the "target du jour" Sunday for both his current and possible future competition.
Two other rivals for the GOP nomination - Texas Gov. Rick Perry and a fellow Texan, Rep. Ron Paul - as well as David Plouffe, a senior advisor to President Barack Obama, all accused the former Massachusetts governor of flip-flopping on major issues in a bid to strengthen his conservative credentials.
(CNN) - Texas Gov. Rick Perry still doesn't like debates, even though he has backed off from an earlier threat to drop out of upcoming showdowns with other Republican presidential candidates.
"I readily admit, I'm not the best debater in the world," Perry said on "Fox News Sunday." "With as many debates as we've got coming up, I may be a pretty good debater when it's all said and done."
(CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul said Sunday his proposed plan to phase out federal student loans would lower the costs of a college education, making it more affordable for those wanting to attend.
“Anybody who’s ambitious enough will get to go to college,” Paul said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
(CNN) - President Barack Obama says he's not yet paying attention to the Republican presidential race, but his senior adviser on Sunday singled out Mitt Romney for criticism when asked about the GOP contenders.
David Plouffe, Obama's campaign manager in 2008 and now a senior adviser to the president, told NBC's "Meet the Press" that Romney's national poll numbers, which are consistently in the low 20% range, showed that most Republican voters were looking elsewhere for a candidate.
(CNN) - Ron Paul has no plans to launch a third-party bid for the White House in 2012 if he fails to win the Republican nomination, he said Sunday.
"I have no intention of doing it," Paul said on CNN's "State of the Union." "Nobody's particularly asked me to do it and they know what I'm doing and I have no plans whatsoever to do it."
(CNN) - Herman Cain, the latest Republican presidential frontrunner, clarified his stance on abortion Sunday by saying he opposes any abortion after conception, with no exceptions.
Cain, the former pizza executive, distanced himself from a previous comment that abortion in cases of rape and incest should be up to the family.
(CNN) – President Barack Obama's senior campaign strategist pushed back Sunday on criticism that the current administration has reneged on a campaign promise not to accept donations from federal lobbyists.
David Axelrod told CNN's "State of the Union" that Obama does not accept contributions from federal lobbyists, and he labeled the current White House as the "most transparent" in history.
