Bachmann: I would create 'millions of jobs'

(CNN) – Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann is confident that when it comes to jobs, she would be a rainmaker as president.

“I have no doubt that we would create millions of jobs,” she said Friday of her prospective presidency, shortly before the October jobs report reflected a dip in unemployment.

The NBC interview took place before the official report that unemployment has decreased to 9% was released, but Bachmann made sure to lay blame for the economy’s shortfalls where she saw fit.

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said if we passed Obamacare we’d create four million jobs,” she said. “I talk to job creators all the time in Iowa, they aren’t hiring because of Obamacare, because of all the tax increases that are involved.”

And on the issue of taxes, the third term congresswoman who’s seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for president said it’s time that all Americans start paying up.

“I want [tax rates] flatter, fairer, simpler,” Bachmann said.

“Only 53% of the American people pay any federal income tax, 47% of the American people pay zero federal income tax, that’s not fair. Everyone benefits from this magnificent country, everyone needs to pay something, even if it’s only $10,” she continued.

“I believe we have to broaden the base to include every American. It’s about time and it’s only fair.”

Facing down rumors of trouble within her campaign, Bachmann asserted that “we are working very hard and we’re very strong.” Five members of her team resigned in October, including the manager of her New Hampshire campaign, but Bachmann argued that staff turmoil is not on the minds of everyday people.

“Not one person has asked me about who we’re hiring or who our staff is,” she said. “What they say to me is, ‘Michele, I really like your plan.’”

Bachmann has been spending a lot of time in the first-in-the-nation caucus state where she won the critical Iowa Straw Poll in August, and where she hopes to finish strongly in the first presidential nominating contest on Jan.4.

“Mine is a pro-growth, pro-job plan, that’s what people want, that’s what they’re excited about here in Iowa,” she said.

    LIAR!

If Michele Bachmann could create a million jobs tomorrow, then why can't she provide the plans today and not wait another 12 months? It is because she doesn't have a plan and neither do the Tea Party Republicans who campaigned on jobs for the 2010 elections.

Yeah, that Hall of Fame commemorative coin bill that just passed in the house was a great start on your job creation plan, congresswoman Bachmann. Where are the jobs? Where are the jobs?

The flat tax, where eveyone pays the same rate on taxes, but not on food, clothing, shelter, or transportation. If a wealthy person isn't paying taxes, it's unforgivable. If a poor person isn't paying taxes, how will taking more money through taxes help them support the economy?

Of course she can... she said that she could bring gas prices to below $2/gallon so if she said it, it must be true.

i heard palin is now advising the OWS crowd about who to be mad at–

    --------

She gave a speech at some Republican fund raiser about how the OWS is hurting the "hard working" people of the USA. Like she would even know what hard work entails.

Sad, sad, sad! Poor woman, she needs help! Filpping back and forth, from one delusion to another, grasping at every little straw she can as her casmpaigh sinks slowly into the sunset. Where are the true statemen? All gone? Now their are just mediocre loudmouths shouting slogans and selling fear and hate and wild promises that can't possibly be kept, while dragging their feet on the job front hoping that alone will sink the President! IS THE THE BEST WE CAN DO? If it is, then we, as a nation, are on our way down & out! Sad, sad, sad!

"Oh really?? So you believe union members vote on who gets the hundreds of millions in union political donations?!! of course they do not. Fact is that union members do NOT vote on what their union leadership does. Sniffit just likes to lie and exaggerate to back up his fanstasy view of the world."

All partisan political activities of unions like the AFL-CIO are funded voluntarily (hard to think of voluntary donations as anything but a "vote"). Moreover, federal laws and many state/local laws prohibit the use of dues for such purposes. If they were violating said laws, don't you think 8 years of Dubya, 6 of which saw Congress controlled by the GOP, would have seen massive investigations, stings and prosecutions? Of course, you'll just yammer something about this all being a lie, untrue, blah blah conspiracy theory, jibba jabba Faux Noise and Red State told me so.

Estimated 7 million non-agricultural jobs are held by illegal aliens .
Jobs that could and should go to Americans.

Why don't you ask Alabama how that is working out for them? Oh that's right, it's not part of the Fox News talking points.

Not that I agree with Grover Norquist's Tax Pledge, but if 47% of the public does not pay any income tax right now, and Michele and other GOP spokesman want to ensure everyone pays a nominal amount. Even if it is only $10 a person, how is that not a tax increase on that 47%?

So her plan to create millions of jobs is??? I think she is saying it will happen by lowering taxes – like what was done under Bush – great plan!. Of course any flat tax plan will result in lower taxes for the wealthy since they currently pay a higher rate than any proposed flat tax rate. This will result in lower government revenues at all levels, which will mean many more people out of work. The % of people not paying taxes will then go even higher. Of course that will be covered by each unemployed person paying $10 a year, right? What a moronette!

    >> Michele Bachmann “I have no doubt that we would create millions of jobs,”

I have no doubt she will.
In China, India, Malaysia, Bhurma, Vietnam, and Singapore.
The jobs will all pay about 30 cents per day and the workers will be slaves without freedom or basic human rights.

This is Mrs. Bachmann's view of a bright morning of idle decadence for a a few thousand of her "friends",
and an endless night of tyranny, desperation, and dispair for the other 7,000,000,000 of us.

Isn't she in the same part that says government doesn't create jobs? I'm confused. These Repub/Tea Partiers need to get their stories straight...the spin hurts my head!

MICHELE BACHMANN AND TEA PARTY REPUBLICANS CAMPAIGNED FOR JOBS DURING 2010 ELECTIONS

So where are the jobs Michele and Tea Party Republicans promised? Not a single jobs bill from the GOP since they took over the House on January 2011.

Now why would anyone believe Michele will come through for jobs a year from now? We need jobs today, not false promises (again) for January 2013.

Millions of jobs! Like: ex-gay counselor, union informant, minimum wage day laborer, foreign "consultant" (by outsourcing), health care biller, and coffin maker; all jobs that increase when the funding and tax breaks go to fundamentalists and major corporations.

There is but one single, overriding reason the "job creators" in Iowa are not creating jobs. There is insufficient demand for the goods and services beging produced by those "job creators." If there were, they would hire in order to increase production. The ACA has nothing to do with it. Tax cuts have nothing to do with it. Get real Mrs. Bachmann.

Cain is not going to sue anyone. Suing would mean he would have to be willing to deposed on the issues, and he insists that it is his right to pick the questions and to lie about what he says when he answers. So a lawsuit would be a major problem for that twit. He would end up in jail and testifying against himself. He thinks that he is above the law, another GOP candidate. Saying he will sue is just his natural puff, signifying nothing.

I thought that she signed the pledge to never raise taxes? She just proposed raising the tax burden on 47% of Americans? That would be the largest tax increase in history! Do these people even listen to the stuff that comes out of their own mouths?

Mrs Bachmann is either uninformed, lying or simply delusional. I am sure that if Obama could produce jobs he would and she thinks she will invoke a flat tax just like all of the other Repukes do. They think they will walk in on day one and change how laws are made and changed with a wave of their hand. Don't fall for any of this because none of them knows what it is like being the President.
