BREAKING: Cain accuser won't go public

Washington (CNN) - One of the women who accused Republican presidential contender Herman Cain of sexual harassment released a statement through her lawyer Friday stating that she "stands by" her complaint, which was made "in good faith about a series of inappropriate behaviors and unwanted advances."

There was "more than one incident" of harassment involving Cain and his client over the span of a couple of months in 1999, attorney Joel Bennett said.

He is calling Cain out. If Cain had any balls he would ask for her side of the story to be told. But, as we all know he is guilty of some form of harrassment so he will bury his head in the sand and avoid all talk of his indisgression.

Cain has no business in the WH. His understanding of foreign policy is like- NON EXISTANT, he LIES whenever it suits him. He can't even TALK correctly. He wants warships in the PERSIAN GULF??? He sings in the middle of press conferences. He cheats on his wife. He hits on women in the work place. He's a PIZZA CEO FFS!!! He SNEAKS his EXTRA TAXES ON TOP OF PRE-EXISTING TAXES in the form of his "PIZZA AD 9-9-9 PLAN" but your average American is too STUPID to know this and will probably vote for him. He's BOUGHT AND PAID FOR by the Koch brothers GIMME A BREAK. He says COME ON DOWN TO THE FED AND ASK but when we do we're told to leave AT GUN POINT. The FED is on PRIVATE PROPERTY and he outright lied about it.... HE's an ACCOMPLICE to THEFT and a THIEF HIMSELF.
This guy is really a piece of work. And you fools will vote him in. SHAME ON YOU CAIN LOVERS

I thought this was the article that reported Cain was "going to sue." Maybe he should read about Oscar Wilde's great idea about suing-and having the TRUTH come out. Or maybe he should talk with Palin (remember HER?) about suing Joe McGinnis. Empty barrels make the most noise.

It appears that Mr. Cain's statements are consistent with his accuser and the Restaurant Association's statements. So, why doesn't you people at CNN stop trying to put legs under this thing and let it die. Could it be that if Mr Cain wins the Republican nomination, that this would guarantee a black man as president in 2012, and some folks just can't accept that reality? Well, fear not my racist and shortsighted friends, for you can be sure whomever the next POTUS is you're just as screwed!

I think this guys political aspirations are goosed. There is no way he can win the leadership race with this stigma attached to him whether he acted inappropriately or not.

If it was really serious he would have been fired or the business sued. The fact that she won't come forward and reveal who she is or what happened tells me all I need to know. After Clinton's cheating came out during the 1992 Presidential race and the subsequent Monica Lewinsky episode liberals have no room to complain about Cain.

Cain is receiving a whole lot of attention and publicity he may not otherwise have as a result of these allegations. Voters will decide whether its good or bad.

Not that I support the guy, but this issue will now forever follow him in his bid for nomination. Without a truth answer from either party involved conspiracy theories will always swirl. It may be better for the public to know not the details of a settlement agreement but why it was reached. Why did the association feel this was needed? This will always be in voters minds and no matter how angry he gets at people asking him, it won't go away.

Side note, the campaign should have been aware of this in the vetting process to see what kinds of skeletons one holds in the closet that would ruin the chance of nomination. Someone didn't do their homework.

I can only wonder how many 'claims' she has made since that time....Hiding and not speaking out, after all that trauma smells of a lie.....$35,000.00....for saying anything, at anytime, against anyone and never having to 'come forward' out guys...u may be next!!

Can't say I blame the ladies for not wanting to come forward in this climate of thinking that we have a right to know every detail of everyone's life. It's enough for me to know that Mr. Cain did something that the NRA concluded that these women needed to be compensated for. I was uncomfortable with many of the negative things he's said in the past few weeks anyway, so he was never going to get my vote.

Lawrence O'Donnell offered to pay for ALL attorney services/costs rendered in connection with this matter because he said they have NOTHING to fear because the NRA will never sue them due to lobbyist connections. Maybe this lady should reconsider.

So now it looks like Cain might not have even been with the NRA when she filed the claim. From what the lawyer Bennett said, it sounds like Cain may have left the NRA and then the woman complained after he was already gone. Bennett said the complaint was filed in July 1999 and she left in September 1999. Cain was already working as the national co-chairman of Steve Forbes' presidential bid in JUNE 1999.

Wonder who got to her? This only makes me believe it is worse than initially thought. This will come out. Maybe not by this woman, but there were enough other who witnessed his actions and it will be brought to light. I don't blame her for being scared. Politics is a dirty business and I believe Cain could be one of the dirtiest.

So Cain did know about BOTH cases and LIED. he had every right to fight those cases when they came out and protect his "good" name. what a creep hiding behind a confidentiality clause. this coward has no place anywhere.
kind of telling too that the NRA used the word liability rather than guilt. my guess is they couldnt argue the guilt with this creep. they got sick of paying out for this creep

And so this non story, full bore political lynching comes to a whimpering end. For 5 days and over 90 (NINETY) separate stories attacking Cain and without even one of them containing what it is he was to have said or done and without anyone even knowing WHO the accusers were, we are left with the attackers looking like utter fools.

The poster who laughably claimed the attorney was calling Cain out has seemingly forgotten has already SAID what he recalls from the incident and that is NOTHING happened that can be considered harassment of any kind. That puts the ball back in this nameless faceless woman's court and she has now made the decision to stay hidden.

She sounds psycho, and she wants it both ways. She wants to keep her privacy and her settlement, but she wants to out her side of the story, but not her name... no wonder she was terminated.
