(CNN) - Herman Cain's chief-of-staff Mark Block on Tuesday wrongly claimed that the son of a woman who accused Cain of sexual harassment worked at POLITICO, a news outlet that first broke the story.
"At the press conference it was brought up that Karen Kraushaar had come out as one of the women, and we've come to find out that her son works at Politico," Block said.
(CNN) - CNN projects that Republican Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant will win the Mississippi gubernatorial election, based on reported results.
He will fill the seat left open by Republican Gov. Haley Barbour, who could not run again after serving two terms.
Washington (CNN) - Karen Kraushaar, who went public earlier Tuesday confirming she was one of the women who previously filed a sexual harassment claim against Herman Cain, told CNN she is considering releasing the details of her allegations against Cain.

(CNN) - While Tuesday's elections haven't gotten nearly the attention that a candidate for next year's presidential election has, voters across the country were casting ballots on races that mattered to them locally and had implications nationally.
Even as Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain was holding a nationally televised news conference to rebut sexual harassment allegations from the 1990s, a measure in Ohio to overturn the anti-collective bargaining measure that Republican Gov. John Kasich signed into law earlier this year was being interpreted as a barometer of next year's presidential election.
(CNN) - A mere two weeks before the congressional budget super committee's November 23 deadline, GOP members of the deficit-reduction panel have signaled a willingness to accept tax increases as part of a broader deficit reduction package, CNN learned Tuesday.
The development has the potential to break a deadlock within the sharply polarized 12-member group, as top Republicans have long been adamantly opposed to any tax hikes. A Senate GOP leadership aide called the shift a "significant concession" on the part of Republicans.
(CNN) - Democratic incumbent Steve Beshear easily won a second term as Kentucky governor Tuesday.
Most political observers had predicted that Beshear would cruise to a relative easy win over his Republican opponent, Kentucky state Sen. David Williams.
Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN) - Penn State graduate and presidential candidate Rick Santorum said Tuesday that embattled head football coach Joe Paterno should be given a chance to speak about his role in a scandal that has already brought down his bosses and an assistant coach.
Paterno, who has the most wins among major college coaches and a largely spotless record, is under pressure because of his response to allegations brought to him in 2002 by a graduate assistant who said he had seen retired defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky sexually assaulting a young boy in the shower at the campus football complex.
Washington (CNN) - Herman Cain on Tuesday vehemently denied all sexual harassment allegations against him and said he had no memory of the first accuser to publicly describe claimed misconduct by the Republican presidential hopeful.
"They simply didn't happen. They simply did not happen," Cain insisted of the accusations of inappropriate sexual behavior, and at least one incident of alleged sexual groping, when he was head of the National Restaurant Association from 1996 to 1999.FULL STORY
(CNN) - Newt Gingrich predicted Tuesday that rival Mitt Romney will be one of the final remaining candidates in the Republican presidential contest, but that it's Gingrich's responsibility to provide a set of solutions to those still uncommitted.
Gingrich, the former House Speaker, said there's a "big opportunity for an alternative candidate," given that Romney has not attracted more than 25% support in most national and statewide polls of current candidates.
