
(CNN) - As Americans continue to struggle with their personal budgets in a fragile economy, President Barack Obama is taking steps Wednesday to cut what the White House terms wasteful spending in the federal budget.
Targeting areas such as government travel, the doling out of smart phones and laptops to government workers and limiting who gets a free car for official duties, the plan builds on the Campaign to Cut Waste program, which the administration says has already saved $8.5 billion.

Election gimmicks but we will still take the savings. In presenting his economic plan is clinton saying this is what mrs clinton would have done? Is he showing up obamas economic inexperience? Obama never even ran a lemonade stand. Clinton plan is short on the spending cuts that are necessary. For the economy vote GOP!

Now how about the congress cut their life time pension and health benefits and be required to pay into social security and use medicaide like the rest of us. They now get an automatic $55,000 yr pension and full medical, OUTRAGIOUS!

A good start would be cutting the salaries of Congressmen. The GOP controlled Congress has not earned a single cent the last year and should have to pay all the money they have taken from hard working tax payers back! Also, they need to get rid of their heath care and other perks they get.
