Cain campaign says it raised $9 million since October 1

Washington (CNN) - While controversy swirls around Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain, his campaign is continuing to see a major financial boost.

The campaign announced Thursday it has brought in more than $9 million since October 1. In the last 10 days, when stories about the controversy first appeared, it has raised $2.25 million.

Cain started rising in the polls in late September when he captured a straw poll in Florida after a well-received debate performance.

Cain raised a total of $4.7 million from May to September, he has almost doubled that amount in the last five weeks.

"Mr. Cain's vision to renew our country and create new jobs via his bold "9-9-9 Plan" is resonating across America," Mark Block, the campaign's chief of staff, said in a statement. "Mr. Cain's business experience and executive leadership is needed to put America back on the track to prosperity. Voters want to be part of the Cain Train so they are donating their time, talent and treasure to make sure Mr. Cain is our next president."

Cain has repeatedly and vehemently denied the sexual abuse allegations. Some analysts have said the accusations are helping him to build support among conservative activists and the impressive fundraising totals are one sign of that.

I hope this buffoon does get the nomination. That will make it all the easier for Obama to be relected.

I hate to say I told you so but I did. I told you he was not going away. His owners haven't finished using him yet (give it a few more months). The sad part is I don't think Cain will EVER know he's a free man.

I thought CNN would censor racist comments. It is not OK to use racial slurs. Being liberal should stand for smart comments dude.

I have once said it on this blog that the only major treat to Obama re-election is Cain. With this massive financial support by American, men this gonna spring surprice.

Silence DoGood, its a line from Blazing Saddles, where Cleavon Little is baiting some Klansmen. Personally, I always thought Mel Brooks was one of the smartest people alive, so using his and Richard Pryor's ( who co-wrote " Blazing Saddles" along with Brooks) words is in a long Liberal tradition: conservatives quote Hank Williams Jr.

I guess that also one fool is giving another fool money. The 9-9-9 plan is going to hurt the poor more than it will help the rest of the economy.

I second the comment from Silence DoGood. Negative racial comments are out-of-bounds regarding the President and should also be out-of-bounds for Herman Cain or any other candidate. That goes for disrespectful religious comments, too.

Cain is a G.O.P.S.T.D. that won't go away. We've been experiencing a severe outbreak for about 6 months now. I wonder if there's a cream for this...

He's going to need all that money for the harassment lawsuits. Koch boys have deep pockets though with all those tax breaks we've been giving them.

  18. Democrat Party - leftist "progressive" socialist communist losers hellbent on destroying the USA

Democrats and lefitsts need to destroy Herman Cain ASAP. If he was to catch on and blacks find out that hard work and education can improve their lives instead of the endless Democrat supplied government assistance, then the future of the Democrat party would be in doubt. That they can use women to help destroy him only makes it all that much better politically. How convennnnnient!

If any of the allegations had a shred of truth there would have been EEOC files and cases. There are none. As for all the racism that just proves kind can't stand a black man who thinks for him self. You HATE because you are a child. You throw fits when someone disagrees with you like a child. You treat people like dirt because you don't understand them like a child. You don't even listen you only hear like a child.you HATE because you a nothing more than a puppet.

It’s just another wonton display of GOPers feeding their ideology of fear and hate. They think they're thumbing their nose at their fantasy of the "liberal news media", but they are only wounding themselves politically.
Every Dem/Liberal would love to see Cain as their candidate – but that scares Cain more than anyone else.

Just wait until the rebate requests start rolling in, Demon. I think it's possible than some of your donations have come from liberals, dude. Your winning the nomination would be a no contest in a general election against President Obama.

No one with any sense would sponsor you, not unless you have completely sold yourself to the money to do their bidding. In other words, you have crossed the burning sands and have become a "made" neo-con.

Hey, Moderator! The above remark is at best racially insensitive.

"If any of the allegations had a shred of truth there would have been EEOC files and cases."

Like virtually the entire post above yours, that statement is false. Many meritorious cases are settled before or without EEOC involvement. Clearly you know nothing about the process.
