First on CNN: Kraushaar won't do news conference without other accusers

UPDATE 4:06 pm: The attorney for a woman who accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment in the late 1990s said Thursday his client is not prepared to hold a news conference about the allegations until other victims agree to join her.

Washington (CNN) - Herman Cain accuser Karen Kraushaar is "not considering a press conference" if only she and the other named accuser, Sharon Bialek, are willing to participate, according to a source close to Kraushaar.

"She still would like to have a press conference with all four women" who have accused Cain of sexual harassment, the source said, but it has not yet come together.

Thursday morning, Kraushaar's attorney, Joel Bennett, told reporters that she has called the two anonymous accusers, but they have not returned her calls.

The source told CNN that Kraushaar has not yet decided what she will do, if anything, on her own if the two remaining accusers want to stay private.

In a statement Wednesday, Kraushaar said: "We are still hopeful that they will have the courage to come forward, but we completely understand if they choose not to."

Earlier this week, Kraushaar told CNN that she has copies of records detailing allegations against Cain and that it is possible she could release them. She also said it would send a powerful message if all the accusers stood together to refute Cain.

At this point, however, the source said no decision has been made about Kraushaar's next step if a news conference with all four women does not come together.

Bennett said Wednesday that it was likely that Kraushaar would do a newser if only Bialek committed, but that is now not the case, according to the source.

Cain has repeatedly said that he has never sexually harassed anyone.

Personally, if I were any of them, a news conference would be the last thing I did. They're already being torn apart. There is no question that something happened, because 2 women, at least that we know of, were paid. And after last night's "Princess Nancy" remark about Nancy Pelosi, it's obvious Cain thinks women are beneath him. Since he is running in a primary, it's up to the GOP to decide if they want to vote for a pig. Personally, from the other side of the aisle here, I say go for it.

the repugs have totally ignored the charges against Cain brought by these woman. The party members act like the women are all lying. So I understand why they don't want to come forward.and have to face all these nasty people. It is a sad day when the repos can stomp on womens rights. and make them afraid to come forward. All 4 are wrong?. Just the kind of president we need. But remember this is the party thats for the rich and against a womans right to choose. They want everyone to believe in their form of religion and patriotism but vote down bills to help our military. A truly disgusting lot..

    Which one has you convinced?
The serial accuser? That cannot remember wanting a cash payout, a raise, a year long fellowship, and insinuated sexual harrasment in her claim, but only that she wanted to work from home.
The "I got felt up 15 years ago" and my boyfreind knows it but I refused to give him details.
The anonymous one? Hard to defend yourself against anonymous people and ghosts!

If Mr. Cain is serious about these claims being completely fabricated, he should be asking for a criminal investigation, since witnesses have issued sworn depositions. It's a slam-dunk, right?

    Cain and Sharia Law

Under Islamic law, rape can only be proven if the rapist confesses or if there are four male witnesses. Women who allege rape, without the benefit of the act having been witnessed by four men who subsequently develop a conscience, are actually confessing to having sex. If they or the accused happens to be married, then it is considered to be adultery.

there is less scrutiny when you are part of a group...or in this case, a lynching mob supported by the media and the lawyers, who in turn are supported by the liberals in this country. what a sad state of affairs.
and cnn, please correct the first paragraph of this story as it doesn't make any sense. after the last quotation mark it should read "unless", not "if only". thank you.

I hope witnesses like the Perry campaign consultant who spoke on OK radio also come forward. According to him Cain's behavior at the NRA was widely known. Bullies depend on the silence of *everyone* who knows the truth but chooses not to speak up. It would be nice to know that even a corporate lobbying group like the NRA is not totally corrupt. And what about Kraft Foods? If this kind of misogyny is Herman Cain's standard operating procedure then surely there were similar incidents when he was fronting Godfather's Pizza? Speak up corporate cowards, speak up!

All parties involved should take a polygraph, and all records should be released. If not, then this story is a non-story.

The 2 women that received money received a SEVERANCE package, not a legal settlement. Cain paid no money to anyone. The attorney for the one woman couldn't even remember who the official was with the NRA (Cain) until someone told him. He doesn't have the file anymore because the case was 12 years old. He said that he never made any personal visits to the NRA headquarters and that the case was handled via the fax machine. The Washington Post hd this info in their online article but have since removed it. Fortunately one of Rush Limbaugh's wer people saved the original page to preserve the truth. Bialek is about as believeable as the pathelogical liar on SNL. Yeah, that's the ticket.

I personally urge all the Cain supporters to continue to back Mr. KochCain. Give him as much of your money as you can. Attack the other GOB candidates who are trying to smear him and bring him down. If you are loyal Cainiacs, this you will do.

Karen Kraushaar be brave. Don't let them prevent you from speaking out. The other two ladies are not going to come forward. They would just rather swallow their shame in silence.

Here's a question for the Cain defenders: When have sexual misconduct allegations ever been proven false against a politician?

Clinton, Weiner, Gingrich, Ensign, Edwards, Craig, Spitzer, and on down the long, long list. All accused, all guilty. What makes you think, just in this one single case, with evidence mounting, that your boy Herman is sqeaky clean? Pretty long odds.

Hiring L Lin Wood the top libel lawyer in the country today shows a man who knows these allegations are baseless.

A guilty man would be hiring a defense attorney, not a libel lawyer.

Kraushaar's credibility remains in question.. After her "complaint" against Cain at the NRA, she filed yet another complaint at her next job for an "email" her manager sent to everyone that had sexual overtones to it.

yea, because if a manager is going to sexually harass you via email he's going to carbon copy the whole department.

This lady is a loon... almost as big of a loon as the girl gloria trotted out for all the talk shows on Monday, who by the way lives in the same apartment building of Obama's chief campaign officer: David M. Axelrod.

The whole situation smells to high heaven.

Which politician who was accused of misconduct was ever exonerated? Which politician, on either side, was set up? Clinton, Ensign, Craig, Hart, Spitzer, Weiner?

Can Cain defenders come up with one case where evidence like this was available and this many people came forward, and it turned out that the politician was innocent? Pretty long odds that Herman will be the lone exception.

"Hiring L Lin Wood the top libel lawyer in the country today shows a man who knows these allegations are baseless.

A guilty man would be hiring a defense attorney, not a libel lawyer."

No he wouldn't. A guilty man would already have survived the statute of limitations and wouldn't be exposed to any criminal liability (nor tort liability for that matter). Fact is, a guilty man would be hiring the best libel/slander lawyer in the country to create a very real threat against these women in an attempt to shut them up. Too bad for Cain that the documents say what they say....the defense to libel/slander is that the statements made are true and all Krausharr is doing is providing details about the FACT that she made a sexual harrassment claim and was paid a settlement. Bialek might be in a little more danger, but given the fact that she's been very calm and rational and Cain has gone out of his way to respond to her accusations like a crazy person, I'm going to go ahead and give her the win in terms of how a jury would view it...particularly since all the other accusations would be admissible to show Cain's pattern of behavior.

@Cory, you're not keeping up. The David Axelrod story is false. Wrong David Axelrod. Just like the story about Josh Kraushaar, who turned out not to be related to Karen Kraushaar. Those are 2 prime examples of right wing victim-bashing and explain why other Cain victims are unwilling to come forward.

Cory, you guys are liars. Your guy Herman is also, as well as being a perv.
