(CNN) - As Congress continues to wrangle over jobs legislation, two senators from opposite sides of the aisle are introducing a more modest, bipartisan bill they hope will gain support from their colleagues.
Republican Marco Rubio of Florida and Democrat Chris Coons of Delaware, appearing on CNN’s “The Situation Room,” said the AGREE Act incorporated ideas from both Democratic and Republican lawmakers, as well as from President Barack Obama.

Washington (CNN) - Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' husband, former astronaut Mark Kelly, recounts in their new memoir the ups and downs of her remarkable recovery from what could have debilitating head wound in less than a year.
He recounts the first time he saw her after the shooting on that Saturday in January, calling it "a great shock. Even when you know what to expect, nothing fully prepares you for seeing someone you love in such a critical state." She was near death when she had arrived at the hospital - comatose, hooked up to a breathing tube and her face was black and blue.

(CNN) - Texas Gov. Rick Perry fired back Tuesday after House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer questioned whether Perry's proposal to create a "part-time Congress" with fewer members and half the budget was serious.
"You better believe it, Steny," Perry said on Sean Hannity's radio show Tuesday. "We're serious."

Washington (CNN) - The Department of Energy last year urged struggling solar energy company Solyndra to delay announcing planned layoffs until after the November 2010 elections, according to a report made public Tuesday by Republican congressional investigators.
Solyndra, which had received $535 million in federal loan guarantees in 2009, later declared bankruptcy.

Washington (CNN) - Ten conservative House Republicans renewed their demand Tuesday for Attorney General Eric Holder to step down for his handling of the fallout from a flawed gun sting operation known as Fast and Furious.
"Attorney General Holder's refusal to take responsibility for the actions of his department is inexcusable," declared Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Arizona.
