First lady & Mrs. Biden greeted with boos at NASCAR event

(CNN) - The White House didn’t quite get the reaction it was hoping for at the season-finale NASCAR event Sunday that featured a special appearance by first lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden.

Obama and Biden were honorary grand marshals at the event in an effort to highlight their Joining Forces campaign – a cause that spotlights veteran issues and seeks to provide assistance to service members and their families.

That's just sad. These are the first/second women, not the president & vice president... Completely tasteless. Now I won't generalize this as all "NASCAR fans" as we can all assume that there were a large amount of people that didn't boo, but for those that did... and you know who you are... eat a d***... there's some taste for your mouth...

and yes, I'm just as tasteless for posting that... but I'm cooler, smarter, and a hell of a lot better looking than you.. so there...

yeah..ok liberals. " This " crowd are the crowd that actually work and pay taxes, unlike the low end sup[porters of the democratic party who sit around and wait for their welfare checks to arrive while screaming that they didn't have the opportunity and that their drug addiction is societies fault and not theirs.

Truth is over 60% of the country is booing Obama and his wife. they are good for nothing tricksters who conned their way into the WH. They are gone next year, they don't stand a chance..

can any body be surprise , with the lack of civility everywhere and anywhere in this country? there is no respect for anyone, first ladies, veterans, peaceful student protestors, students, children, elderly, poor and middle age citizens, minorities, women, disabled, traditions, diversity, religions, differences, sameness, teachers, first responders, and parents etc.

After the crowd displays that we have seen at the Republican debates, should you be all that surprised?

Considering the intellectual level of the average NASCAR fan, I am not surprised.

It was unnecessary, rude, and disrespectful.
And save the dumb comments about NASCAR being full of the "patriotic, hard-working Americans that built this country" as if NASCAR were their exclusive locale.
NASCAR patrons of all colors, and economic status should be ashamed at the reception afforded this two ladies.

I am sure all the non thinking liberals will be quick to condemn "the NASCAR crowd" but the booing of Michele Obama and Jill Biden is problematic for the White and democratic party. The military make up a good deal of the" NASCAR Crowd" and that is a serious problem for the Obama/Biden administration. Both these woman have attempted to be shown to be helpful and sympathetic to the plight of the military and their families. Love them or hate The "NASCAR crowd" tells it like is. President Obama has also tried to out a good face on his military efforts but he is seen for what he is, anti – military, apologetic for a country that does not need to apologize, anti small business and his broken promises and transparency that never happened are littered all over the highway of this country. If GW Bush were a keynote speaker at a liberal function, liberals would sip their wine and pretend to listen. At least the "NASCAR Crowd" tells it like it is with upfront honesty and "real" emotion. Unlike the "liberal crowd" pretending to be respectful but seething with hate!

It's too bad their mama's didn't teach them respect, or is that no longer a conservative value?

Conforms to the stereotype of ignorant racist rednecks that attend these events.

They were just taking their lead from Cantor, Boehner, McConnell, et. al. , all racially motivated. I suppose they are Christians too. Of course they are.

So the OWS people can express their opinions but NASCAR fans can't? Lefties are hypocrites!

This is to be expected at a gathering of intentionally ignorant, recalcitrant hoodlum types. They'll endlessly brag about "southern pride" whenever the NASCAR thing is going on ...frankly, they're an embarassment to the country. Get some social skills, some edjumacation; grow up and get a life!

I'd comment about the calibre of those doing the booing, but it's too much like shooting fish in a barrel.

You can expect nothing less from those within the NASCAR crowd who booed the First Lady and Jill Biden.
When will poor white trash republicans realize that the Party of Genocide Over Policy GOP cares nothing for them?

The booing says so much more about the crowd than it does Mrs. Obama and Dr. Biden.

Very disrespectful, their parents didn't teach them manners or they just didn't listen.

I stand corrected, the NACAR crowd has even less class than I imagined. The other folks up there with the first ladies were a soldier and school kids. No matter how much I hated President Chaney and his trained monkey George W. Bush, I would have never insulted their wives this way

    November 21, 2011 01:42 pm at 1:42 pm |

That's why they can't draw fans, you have dumb-down and be exclusionary and a follower of 1860 philospy.

I already had a negative view of Nascar fans. This now makes them less than trash in my view.
