First lady & Mrs. Biden greeted with boos at NASCAR event

(CNN) - The White House didn’t quite get the reaction it was hoping for at the season-finale NASCAR event Sunday that featured a special appearance by first lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden.

Obama and Biden were honorary grand marshals at the event in an effort to highlight their Joining Forces campaign – a cause that spotlights veteran issues and seeks to provide assistance to service members and their families.

No surprise given the type of crowd that venue attracts, all that's missing is an unlimited supply of mountain dew and chewing tabbacco

i hope these two women take into consideration the source–this is the same mentality that boo'ed a soldier serving his country–unfortunatly it takes all kinds but it would be cool to show some respect

These are people who pay large sums of money to watch cars go around in circle and secretly hope for an accident.
What a brave and honorable bunch of Americans who boo two women trying to do something good for veteren's and their families. I'll bet their children are proud of mom and dad...

It motivates me to write a large check for President Obama's campaign. America can't survive leadership these peple would support.

It's three things in the world that cause people to act stupid and say stupid things out of their mouths whenever there is a disagreement: sports, politics, and religion. For some reason, people have no sense of respect, class, or perspective for differences. It's worse on blogs, because people lose all control over their emotions as they fire away on the keyboard! Some adults are ridiculous. You just have to shake your head........

Is this suppose to be surprising?! I don't understand how going around in a circle a million times at high speeds is considered......a sport.

It is about having class can clearly this crowd of people have none. Their small minds cant get anything out other than sounds, like boo. What a bunch of idiots!

Buying a ticket does not give license to act like an idiot. Booing a driver is one thing. Booing two ladies who are there to help vets shows immatturity, bigotry, and a plain lack of class. As a long time NASCAR fan, I apologize to Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Biden and ask them to remember that all race fans are not low lifes.

You ignorant Liberals really do beliieve that you are so intellectual & so far above the fray.....how many times did you boo Bush? I don't blame the boos....she deserved what she got because she did NOT wnat to be there....after all, she does believe she is above every NASCAR fan! Dems are #1 when it comes to denegrating.....just look at your fearless leader himself; he doesn't have any problem with dissing this great country anywhere in the world he goes!

Considering the fact that the majority of these "fans" are there either to see a fiery crash or because of a lack of imaginiation, I would take their booing as a compliment.

Maybe these people aren't as stupid as the Obama's assumed. Maybe they are tired of watching She-Obama jet around the world taking vacations on the American working man's dime. Just maybe.

Not hard to believe the First lady & Mrs. Biden would get booed given their views versus the NASCAR audience views on things.

The right daily indoctrinates its followers with the message that not only is it acceptable to personally demonize those with whom you disagree, it is in fact your patriotic duty. Civility and respect are seen as signs of weakness proving you're not truly an American.

Until we begin calling people out for this destructive and boorish behavior it will likely only get worse. Many a talk show pundit and an entire media empire are furiously sewing the seeds of division; it's up to us whether we let them succeed.

CNN, I wonder what goes through your mind to publish such drivel. What do these boos mean at all in the larger context of the country or 2012? Are those booing the deciding votes in the 2012 presidential election or the all important Florida vote in 2012? A politician or his family goes anywhere, there will be a smattering of boos amongst cheers or vice -versa. And CNN goes and writes an entire article on the "sound strength" of these boos and were they heard or not? I mean come on. There is a limit to pathetic make up articles to cover space and this falls in that one. President Obama was here in Ann Arbor in May 2010 for the U of M convocation. There were a sizable number of protesters in the distance and a cheering 90000 plus audience. I didn't see that covered. Did you evaluate if those "boos" played a role in the 2010 election? Grow up CNN.

  23. Republican who supports President Obama

Disgusting display. Disgusted. What have these fine ladies done to draw such a response. This has gone on for far too long. Fox News and the GOP are the main culprits of this. Sarah Palin, Bachmann, Limbaugh, and the teaparty are to blame. This is an embarrassment to our nation for such a toxic environment. I am ashamed but not shocked. The speaker of the House and the Minority Leader of the Senate should begin to look at how the fabric of this nation is torn b/c their actions.

Grow up America. Respect one another. Grow up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
