NBC apologizes to Bachmann over song

Washington (CNN) - NBC has apologized to Rep. Michele Bachmann after the house band for "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" played an inappropriate song during her appearance on the show Monday, CNN confirmed Thursday.

Bachmann received a letter Wednesday from Doug Vaughan, NBC's senior vice president for special programs and late night, that apologized for what happened, said Alice Stewart, the Republican presidential hopeful's spokeswoman.

Well, Bochmin had better apologize to the American public for insulting our intelligence every time she speaks.

I agree with her there. It does amount to sexism and.obvious bias. This is a female, despite what you think of her, who has worked hard getting through law school, running for congress, running for president. She deserves more respect.

The speak the truth or play the truth and get in trouble. A example of a Bachmann's america.

I am definitely not a Bachmann supporter, but this is really tacky behavior on the part of SNL. I realize they are in the business of cutting edge "comedy," but our national sense of any kind of class, right and left, seems to be disappearing daily.

Oh c'mon, NBC....have a spine! That was a perfect song for this windbag.

Typical how you Libs think this idiotic stunt was funny. It is classical locker-room high school behavior. Thats why it should be no suprise that the Lib OWS-types who are too stupid to get a job think it's funny.

Thats why I'm voting Republican this year. Whether you agree or not with Bachmann, she doesn't deserve that kind of treatment. Attitudes for Democrats have gotten out of control. No civility.

Isn't it sad that Rush hasn't had to apologize for calling the FIrst Lady uppity, again the hypocricy and double standards of the right are amazing. They are always the victim, but they never seem to be resonsible for their own words and actions.

Hey I don't agree with this drastic medaphor, but sometimes as mitten claims with their add, you've got to push something out their to catch folks attention. The unrelentless lies and spins of this woman should be brought to the front. The only difference between the NBC song, and mitten sorry excuse to bring something to light is that these folks are truthful even though over the edge about baukman. But the entire mitten add was lies and miss information all through his whole add.

When is she going to apologize to the american people for exposing them to all her ignorant nonsense?

Typical Libs, condoning this. Whether one supports Bachmann or not, this was totally innappropriate, and typical of the double-standard in the media. This would NEVER have been done to Michelle Obama or Hillry Clinton....

The issue in not whether Michelle Bachman is a liar. The issue is simple civility and respect. Bachman is partially correct when she says that if such a stunt were pulled on Michelle Obama heads would roll. I say partially correct because the truth is that the band would never have done such a thing to Michelle Obama, or Hillary Clinton, or Nancy Pelosi, etc. You can bet right now that this story will be dead by tomorrow. No meaningful discipline will be handed out, and the media will just stop reporting on this. By Sunday it will be as if it never happened.

Wow, did the writer of this piece actually watch the intro? Because the band sang none of the lyric lines that you listed above. They simply played the riff and hook of the song.

Ah, yes. Thanks to all the posters who would rather defend the crass politics displayed by the Roots Band versus a person who, whether you like her or not, deserved respect.

Its OK for her to blast Obama or any of her opponents, but now when she thinks someone insulted her, she demands and apology! This woman is nothing more than a Sara Palin replacement! By the way, I am glad we haven't had to listen to Palin. Seems the media has figured out we don't really give a flip about what she says or does. Now I can't wait for the day we don't have to hear Bachman spew insults and false information!

As much as I really, really, really, really despise M Bachmann (I really do), the song choice was unprofessional and uncalled for.

If you listen to the song, it took 50 seconds to get to anything "racy". Since when do TV intro's last 50 seconds? How can you be insulted if don't hear anything insulting? She found out the title and then got mad later. Jokes on her.

More love and tolerance from the left wing. Gotta love some of the posters here spouting their own hate. Definition of a lie to a liberal, speak the truth. Definition of hate to a liberal, tell the truth.

  22. Lost in Texas FOREVER and EVER

I agree it was kind of classless, but Bachmann has been known to shall we say stretch the truth a bit when it comes to saying certain things about the president. Then again Perry and now Romney are getting away with doing the same thing so perhaps it's just a GOP way of trying to be elected..flat out LIE on your opponent.

I don't care one bit for Mrs B.... BUT it does no way justify what happened. I'm positive if it happened to a Dem, the Dems would cry like little babies.... If you think this is acceptable, then don't ever plan on our country to recover... Respect is step one, without it we are gonna continue down the tubes... DEM or REPB...
