Sheriff Arpaio to campaign with Perry

Hudson, New Hampshire (CNN) – Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona will campaign with Rick Perry in New Hampshire on Tuesday, the Texas governor's campaign told CNN on Saturday.

The man famous for his tough stance on illegal immigration has not endorsed a presidential candidate, though he has been courted by the likes of Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, businessman Herman Cain, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Perry.

President's retail therapy for 'Small Business Saturday'

(CNN) – On one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year, President Barack Obama and first daughters Sasha and Malia dropped by a local area bookstore in support of the second annual "Small Business Saturday."

The first family, known for their bookstore outings, provided some Thanksgiving retail therapy to Kramerbooks & Afterwords Cafe in Washington's Dupont Circle neighborhood.

Huntsman on Romney: 'Name recognition only means so much'

(CNN) - Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, who has largely plugged his campaign resources into New Hampshire, said Saturday that GOP presidential rival Mitt Romney better not count on his popularity in the state as a solid path to primary victory.

"There's nothing that guarantees somebody with high name recognition, like Gov. Romney, is going to carry this without a fight," Huntsman said in an interview with television station WMUR, a CNN affiliate in New Hampshire. "I do believe that name recognition only means so much."

Obama on NBA tentative agreement: 'Good deal'

(CNN) - After playing basketball at Washington's Fort McNair Army Base on Saturday, President Barack Obama seemed to approve the tentative deal reached earlier in the day to end the NBA lockout.

When asked about the potential agreement, Obama gave a thumbs-up and said, "Good deal!"

House Democrat to pass on seeking re-election

(CNN) - Rep. Charlie Gonzalez of Texas and chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus will forgo seeking an eighth term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“I've been in Congress for 14 years and I want to do something else - what that is, I really don't know. But financially, I would like to be productive and have the resources to make a better life,” Gonzalez, a Democrat, told The San-Antonio Express News on Friday.
