Biden makes surprise visit to Iraq

(CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden arrived in Baghdad on Tuesday on a previously unannounced trip to Iraq, according to reporters traveling with the vice president.

Biden's visit comes in the midst of an increasingly rapid U.S. military withdrawal from the Middle Eastern country. Virtually all American troops are scheduled to be withdrawn by the end of this year, according to the terms of the most recent U.S.-Iraqi security pact.

We need to get out of that country, ASAP, so that we can stop throwing away the lives of our service men and women. We need to live up to the request of the Iraqi government for us to leave, despite GOTP objections. It will save us hundreds of billions of dollars that would be best spent here on rebuilding our own nation and paying down our debt.

You've had a busy week already Mr. Vice Presdient and it's only Tuesday. What did you do? Fly from Chicago str8 to Iraq after Mrs. Daley's funeral? Whatever you did, glad that you're in Iraq supporting the withdrawal and our troops morale.

    1. I agree we should get out... but...
    2. "hundreds of billions" is quite an exaggeration, and
    3. the funds will NEVER be used to pay down the debt.

    1. It is a tie. At least we agree on sumpin'.
    2. We spend a billion dollars a week there. We spend two if right wing war hawks had their way.
    3. Wishful thinking, right? The left would want to buld roads and bridges. The right would start a new war.
