(CNN) – He’s faced criticism from some quarters that his administration’s support of Israel has been lackluster at best, but President Obama told a gathering of wealthy Jewish supporters Wednesday evening that no other administration has been as committed to the longtime U.S. ally.
“This administration – I try not to pat myself too much on the back – but this administration has done more in terms of the security of the state of Israel than any previous administration,” Obama said at a private high-dollar fundraiser in New York’s upper East Side attended by about 30 people who paid $10,000 each. The event was hosted by Jack Rosen, the chairman of the American Jewish Congress.

You know things are really going bad for the Grand Old Party when the media starts dragging Israel into the conversation.
Obama hasn't done anything more than previous presidents have done to alienate Israel. The right has no chance using these bogus charges and made-up stories
We all know you've got israel's back 100% Mr. president. We're also are aware that it's the right wing loons and falsifiers mischaracterizing your statements. Your position on Israel/Palestinian peace is no different than any other previous American President. I frankly can care less about Israel and think they should defend themselves. It's not a mystery to people with knowledge of the secrets of the one dollar bill that America is Israel's closests ally and defender(Star of David over the eagle on the back of the one dollar bill).
He's support has been unwavering. What has changed has been the blind eye that the Bush administration turned to the bad policies that Israel has used over the previous decade. No other sitting US president has done that, to allow the hard right wing of the Israeli government to write its' own blank checks.
Every US president has demanded of Israel as moderate stance to make the PLO and other groups look like the bad guys, so as that they do not garner international sympathy. So as that Israel does not display the very actions that the PLO and now Hamas accuse them of doing.
Bush allowed that strategy to go down the drain, and now Israel suffers from the lost prestige and sympathy it once had in the International community. The Palestinians are winning the sympathy and image battle, which is why they have made the bold move to seek official statehood.

Glad to see our elected officials are out there fighting for the middle class, hard working families of America. And people wonder why voter turnout is so low? I'm sure Republicans will have similar events, and I will be equally disgusted with them as well. Because it's all about money nowadays – votes are a distant second.

OK, this is EXACTLY why Obama's poll numbers and his support is dropping like a rock. NOBODY with half a brain believes this. Obama is lying, just as he as always done. The American people simply cannot support the liar-in-chief anymore.
With the way obama has thrown Israel under the bus ... AIPAC, and the whole Jewish community should put all of their resources behind whoever runs against obama !!!

What I am implying is that there is very little national conversation lately that has been of benefit to the Grand Old Party, be it the primary candidates, or what has been (or not been) happening in Congress. Israel, and where Israel would like to take America - specifically where Netanyahu would like to take America - is always a great conversational distraction.

Excuse me, but you forget something with your whine. Solutions. If we had followed the path outlined by leading conservatives there would already be a shooting war on the ground in Egypt between the West and Islam. I think we are in a much better position today. If theire are enemies to be found, I would rather lull them into a sense of false confidence, which draws them out into the open where they can be seen, identified, and traced.
