Rubio to release memoir

(CNN) - Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida is set to release a book about his life in the fall of 2012.

Sentinel, an imprint of the Penguin Group, will publish the memoir about Rubio, who's frequently mentioned as a potential running-mate on the Republican presidential ticket.

The book will detail the rise of the GOP star and junior senator who was born to parents who left Cuba shortly before Fidel Castro took control of the island.

Rubio, 40, campaigned heavily as the son of exiles and reported on his website that his parents fled under the dictatorship of Castro.

But controversy grew over his family's history last month after a Washington Post report found that his parents left Cuba in 1956, prior to the start of Castro's regime.

The news prompted critics to attack Rubio for embellishing his life's story, to which Rubio said he was unaware of the exact dates until the story broke.

While his staff updated his website after the story published, the senator sill maintained he was the son of exiles, as his parents weren't allowed to return to Cuba under Castro's rule.

Sentinel acquired the rights to the memoir after what it called a "competitive" auction process with six publishing houses.

"Marco Rubio is one of the brightest rising stars of the Republican Party and will likely be on the national stage for many years to come," said Adrian Zackheim, the publisher of Sentinel. "Of equal interest is the emotional story of his family's journey to the U.S. from Cuba, their exile experience and how that shaped the Senator's life."

The book deal is waiting on final approval by the Senate Ethics Committee.

What could he possibly be writing about?

I live in South Florida and it just stuns me how folks vote against their own interests. He wants to take away what taxpayers have earned through withholdings in their earnings, yet he lives off the taxpayer. Interesting. But then again, folks down here voted for Rick Scott -urggggghhhh!!!!!

No family who had to leave their country of birth due, mostly , to government oppression "forgets" how or why they go to another country.
This guy, rubii, wanted to dress up the history so that he would get the Cuban votes. I wonder if they are going to be fooled again by anything this teapublikan does in the future!!
This also goes to all the Florida seniors and retirees who are voting so that this liar and his cronies can take their "entitlements" away so they can live in cardboard boxes on the beach!!!
