Paul to blast Gingrich in Iowa ad

(CNN) - Rising GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul will take his attacks against Newt Gingrich to the Iowa airwaves this week.

Paul's campaign is set to release a shorter version of a 2 1/2 minute ad that debuted online last week and quickly gained traction for framing Gingrich as a flip-flopper and Washington insider.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) - Who says Republicans and Democrats can't agree on how to pay for extending the Social Security tax break?

Sure, the parties have put forth some very different proposals. Democrats want to tax the rich. And Republicans want to shrink the federal workforce and charge the wealthy more for Medicare.

Gingrich tops 3rd straight poll in Iowa

(CNN) – Newt Gingrich tops a third straight poll of likely Iowa Republican caucus goers. Thirty-three percent of people questioned in an ABC/Washington Post survey say that the former House speaker and GOP presidential candidate is their choice for their party's nominee. The poll's Tuesday release comes four weeks before the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses, which kick off the Republican presidential primary and caucus calendar.

Gingrich was on top of the field in a Des Moines Register Iowa poll released Saturday and an NBC-Marist poll that came out on Sunday.

Poll: Gingrich's rise goes through South Carolina

(CNN) – Newt Gingrich received the top spot in a new poll of likely primary voters in South Carolina, the latest example of the presidential candidate's surge.

The Winthrop Poll released Tuesday showed the former House speaker leading the pack with 38.4% support, followed by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney 21.5%, Texas Gov. Rick Perry with 9%, former pizza executive Herman Cain, who has since suspended his campaign, with 6.6% and Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota with 5.4%. The other candidates obtained less than 5% support.

Cain accuser says candidate's exit 'bittersweet'

(CNN) – The woman whose public accusation of sexual harassment helped push Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain out of the 2012 race called his decision to suspend the campaign "bittersweet" Monday.

Sharon Bialek told CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" that she was happy Cain decided to halt his presidential bid - "but it saddened me because even though he did so, he still has not spoken the truth."

Senate Democrats on Monday offered a new proposal to extend the payroll tax cut before it expires at the end of the year, and President Barack Obama quickly urged Congress to help middle-class Americans by passing it.

CNN: Pelosi ready to tell all on Gingrich
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office said Monday that any potentially-damaging information she had on Newt Gingrich was all open to the public, defending earlier comments that she had "a thousand pages" of investigative material on Gingrich during his time as House speaker.
