(CNN) - President Barack Obama said Wednesday that he will veto any attempt by Republicans to link approval of a major oil pipeline from Canada or other unrelated measures with the payroll tax cut extension issue currently before Congress.

The pipeline would only provide a few hundred permanent jobs. Mostly in Canada.

You are saying that a new "right of way" has been bought and paid for, surveyed and analyzed with engineering drawings with approval stamps for the technical aspects, and is awaiting final environmental approval in less than a month. A month that saw Congress on vacation for two weeks.

You have been grossly misled. Fox News is lying to you. A new route has been proposed, and that is as far as it has gone.

Hey Grover, your screen name tells everyone that you're a wingnut – after that, there's no reason to read your dribble.

Wrong yet again little Mikey... I'm one of the most responded to posters on this blog because I speak the truth and know the facts. Sniffit and Rudy just blather and spew the libtard kool aide to you and others. I speak of reality, the REAL WORLD. I realize it is a bit tough for many libtards to take while blogging from their mom's basement. Libtards live in a world of make believe where they think they can defy the laws of finance and nature. Choose the red pill and live in the real world.

@RUdy and Sniffit you are both absolute idiots!!!! First off Obama is not for any oil pipeline or any off shore drilling. You can set there and blame the farmers all you want they have nothing to do with it. He doesn't want because that would prove what we conservatives have been saying for the past 3 years if you drill here or you run an oil pipeline from Canada then you will bring the economy back. It would create thousands of jobs and not to mention would bring the price of everything consumed down. Oh yeah I forgot we might actually get the price of gas under control. I mean who would want that right? Good Lord people get a clue!
    ------------------------
The part I liked the best was the "...you can SET there and blame the farmers..." !
"SET" there. That kinda tells you a story all in itself doesn't it? lol!
Don't you think that it would behoove the President to set there and get the economy going, and get everyone working including Pa_outofwork? Wouldn't that be just the thing that the President would need to seal his re-election next year? And he is seeking to be re-elected next year,so why would he sabotage this effort by NOT putting people back to work and improving the economy? Regardless of whether it was a Cons idea or not he would still get the credit because he is the President. So maybe, just maybe that's not the reason why he's not going through with the whole pipeline thingy.
I saved my lunch money so I can buy you a clue.

Hey crazy right wingnuts. I think you will find that the current president has created more jobs in three years than the idiot from Texas did in two terms. Under Bush we lost 8 million jobs in three years, and Obama's stimulus has added 3.5 million workers. In addition, 2 million jobs in the auto industry were saved by Obama, while Mittens and the republicans wanted the car companies to go bankrupt.

Hey Grover- Do you actually read the posting on CNN? If so, Monday you saw that we are exporting more gas than we are using from our domestic supply. Aside from its affect on the environment – it is not needed except to put more money in your heroes pockets.
19th hole? Really? After Bush, the recovering alcoholic and his nearly 50% vacation time record? And by the way- Grover the puppet master is proof of everything wrong with our country. "Sign my pledges and I will give you money" is no different than buying politicians . and he does it in writing!

The Republican congress can threaten to refuse the middle class a tax cut unless he gives in to their blackmail. Bloggers who support the usual GOP blackmail. The President will be re-elected because those who support your position time have passed. You are no longer in control of this country. Who are the republicans going to run against him? Have you seen the circus called the Republican candidates?

Veto, that means NO. Our leader and democrat senate nixed many bills, that got ignored. GOP voted NO, they got the exclusive designation, the party of NO.
Saying NO on principle is not a bad thing. Give considerations to both sides.
On this one, the president is definitely putting ideology first. Michael Moore raised an important question yesterday on CNN."How is it that Obama got the most contribution from Wall Street, more than all the GOP combined? What did they want?"

Sure build the pipeline. Destroy almost 90,000 square miles of habitat. All for the sake of our greed for oil. The Repubs will keep screaming for oil until it's gone, then blame the Dems because we have no alternatives. Right wing idiots.

The creepy old man next door who watches out the window to see if you mistakenly step on his grass, and you do everything you can not to because you don't want to have to deal with his crazy antics. But every once in a while he thinks you do – and he'll shoot out the door gnashing his teeth, shouting, and claiming how everyone takes advantage of him and doesn't give him the respect he deserves.
That's who or what the GOP has become.

The failed president will veto any offer from the republicans because that is his whole campaign strategy. He is going to attempt to label the republicans "the do-nothing congress". He can't run on his own record....how would he do that? He would have to say "I've failed at every single thing I have attempted but vote for me anyway".
