Gingrich event canceled amid safety concerns

(CNN) – The bookseller set to host a Newt Gingrich book signing Friday canceled the event, citing public safety concerns.

The Republican presidential candidate and former House speaker was scheduled to visit Hudson News at Union Station in Washington, D.C. with his wife, Callista to promote her new children's book and his two most recent books.

But Hudson News, located blocks from Capitol Hill, said it would not proceed, "in order to address public safety concerns."

"And here come the hateful comments toward anythng and everythng republican."

....and well deserved too. If you support the Republicans you're either a millionaire or a duped fool. Which are you??

@malabar - Hey, I used to vote for your guys !!! I just wish they could collectively go a single 24 hour news cycle without saying something that's totally idiotic or insane.

Yesterday: Obama's an appeaser - despite his systematic killing of the Al Quaeda leadership and his well thought out roll in Kadaffi's downfall.

The day before: Obama is leading a "war on religion" because he didn't say God in a Thanksgiving day speech, and doesn't spend federal dollars on faith based organizations - which he is prohibited from doing by Supreme Court rulings!!!

Last Week - The poor don't work (thereby erroneously equating "poor" with "unemployed freeloader"). Underaged school children should be trained in the janitorial services (since that's where they're going to end up anyway, right ??).

Any Day - Only tax breaks for the rich will create jobs... despite all evidence to the contrary. (As a "job creator" I will be taking my tax breaks and putting them in the bank - because jobs don't get created by giving tax breaks to "job creators" , they get created when there is suffient increase in demand to require additional personnel.)

Since Palin turned losing and quitting into gold mine opportunity, the republicans can't seem to find a candidate to run for higher office who can be taken seriously.

Bachmann and Santorum knew they never had a snowballs chance of winning a general election. Bachman can't get elected outside her own wacko congressional district and Santorum LOST his seat in the senate.

Cain had to know thte skeletons in his closet would come to light.

So, why are all these extremists running for office?

Because they know after they lose or quit, they'll be set for life by preaching their lunacy to other lunatics through books and speaking tours and on Faux News.

I doubt that Gingrich really even wants to win the presidency. It's not as profitable. He's probably working on a way to undermine his campaign without hurting his book sales.

But we know that short of killing puppies and spitting on handicapped children there is nothing he could do that would rule out Faux News from taking him on as another empty talking head.

  4. Republicons demand the middle-class pays for the 1%’s tax subsidies.

Newt is the typical neo-con parasite that financially feeds on the ignorance while building up the fear of their followers.

Hmmm safety concerns at a children's book signing? What is the safety concern? Is he worried the inner city kids who he suggested become janitors at their school have formed a hit squad?

the real reason that bookstore canceled the event was to save the Gingriches the humiliation of arriving to find that they had pre-sold zero copies of their blather-books. Also, Michelle Bachmann was in the cafe signing her book and Herman Cain was in the womens restroom signing his. They also probably had a table out by the dumpster for Donald to sign his.

I'm sure the company cancelled the book signing "in order to address public safety concerns", because the floors had not been mopped nor the toliets cleaned "BY THE KIDS" to the satisfaction of Callista and Newt. Barnum & Bailey had a 3 RING CURCUS but The Republican Party has them beat with a Multi 3 Ring Circus led by the "Slap Stick Comedy" of Professional Clowns, Mitt Gingrich and Newt Romney.

I think all the proceeds from Callista's book should go to the children, that will become Janitors, if and when Newt becomes President.

@wgf. You forgot those pesky regulations that keep companies from dumping their waste into the water, or spewing pollutants into the sky. THEY kill jobs too, didn't you know that? Even a CONservative research group debunked this lie, not that the candidates won't still spout it for the sheep to devour eagerly
