Gingrich returning to South Carolina

Des Moines, Iowa (CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich's campaign confirmed Wednesday he is squeezing in a quick trip to South Carolina while continuing to make a final push in Iowa and New Hampshire.

The former House speaker will attend a "Christmas Lunch with Newt" charity event at in Columbia on Dec. 23. Blue Marlin restaurant owner Bill Dukes is sponsoring the shrimp and grits luncheon, and according to the invitation, guests are being asked to bring a non-perishable item to donate to Harvest Hope Food Bank.

The current GOP frontrunner is making a big push in the early nominating states and boasts of having the largest organization among other candidates in South Carolina, which holds its primary contest on Jan. 21.

According to Gingrich's campaign, in South Carolina the candidate will speak and take questions at the 12:30 p.m. lunch. He'll also attend a couple private meetings.

Dukes tells CNN he sponsors events for Harvest Hope every holiday season but the Gingrich supporter was happy to work the event around Gingrich's schedule.

Governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley opens the doors to the Governors mansion to Newt . Reminiscing over her state paid trip to Europe last summer , thanking Newt for his Tiffany's Christmas gift.

Good thing these candidates don't want to chop budgets in their campaigns like they want to do to the government.

Shrimp and grits??! Now there's a dichotomy. You might as well pair caviar with cheese whiz. I've never understood the attraction of grits myself.

Well, the deermining factor here for a GOPer is getting and holding onto power. When seeking power, obtaining and spending everyone else's money on themselves helps them gain it. When already in power, obtaining and spending everyone else's money on everyone else doesn't. Rather, when already in power, obtaining and spending everyone else's money on the already wealthy and giant corporate interests helps them keep it. 2 + 2...

Yesterday Ann Coulter on Hannity (Faux Show) said "I'd vote for Jeffrey Dahmer over Obama and screw the Liberals..." This is how disgusting GOP/TP are becoming. Ronald Ragen, super librial by today's standard, must be rolling in his grave. Let's go back to 17th century puritan test, elect GOP/TP...

From the looks of things, my guess he has had to "squeeze in"to a lot of places.

Is there place for an elevated discourse with liberals. Liberals lack substance. They compensate for this with hate, vitriol, innuendos and personal insults. They are tyrannical in their assumptions and assertions. They try to demean or belittle those of opposing points of view. In academia there are both liberals and conservatives. Liberals are for elitism; to achieve this they've hijacked the words science and education- so that from their stand point only leaders approved by liberals believe in science are educated and can lead. They are indeed narrow minded. Wisdom dies with liberals. May they be informed that there are other world views.
