(CNN) – When Rep. Michele Bachmann said that a report by the United Nations' International Atomic Energy Agency had described Iran as poised to join the world's elite club of nuclear powers, during Thursday's Republican candidates' debate in Sioux City, Iowa, Rep. Ron Paul of Texas responded immediately that she was mistaken.
I do not care, let NATO take care of that.
I had thought that Rep. Paul was speaking directly to Rep. Bachmann's claim, not the evidence in the IAEA report. But, the bigger story is what these candidates would do about a nuclear Iran if elected POTUS. With the exception of Paul, all of them sound ready make pre-emptive strikes, if not all out war.
Bachmann must get her misinformation, lies, and conspiracy theories from foreign owned media sources, Fox.
As much as I dislike ron paul, he at least has more credibility in telling the truth. Bachman far too often appears to feel the need to toot her own horn than talk facts. Since noone really knows the current state of irans nuclear program perhaps the candidates should attempt to be strong on national security with a little discussion about how they will deal with a nuclear iran. Its inevitable even if not electable.
