Iowa's campaign economy

Des Moines, Iowa (CNNMoney) - The Iowa caucus isn't just a political exercise. It's also a very big business.

As candidates crisscross the state with their staffers, supporters and the media in hot pursuit, the groups dump money into local economies from Des Moines to Ottumwa.

  1. Media is a big part of the propaganda problem

The media companies are getting rich off all the ad buys. Which is why you shouldn't trust the so-called "liberal" media. Most American media is corporate owned and has corporate interests. The main interest is money. Stirring up controversy, even if it means bad or misleading reporting, keeps the race stirred up and, very conveniently for the media, keeps candidates buying more ads.

Gotta love CNN Political Ticker, still providing a forum for the drug addicted left wing to demean and degrade Republicans while ignoring the St. Joseph Country election fraud perpetrated by Obama and the corrupt unions.

Nobody cares about that because no one ever did. Get over whatever it is you're talking about and wipe the spilled milk.

As usual your post proves it is you that is on drugs, not all Republicans or Rightwingers, JUST YOU

I like Part Time Perry's idea of Michele Bachmann only getting paid a part time wage, even though she does not even deserve half a pay check but at least that is better then her getting paid huge bucks for travelling and slamming.

Here's a quote for all of the Christian Conservates out ther from Luke 6:

20 Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said:
“ Blessed are you poor,For yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are you who hunger now, For you shall be filled.
Blessed are you who weep now, For you shall laugh.
22 Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you,
And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake.
23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven,
For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.
24 “ But woe to you who are rich, For you have received your consolation.
25 Woe to you who are full, For you shall hunger.
Woe to you who laugh now, For you shall mourn and weep.
26 Woe to you[e] when all[f] men speak well of you, For so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Hey Rudy! Doesn't the Bible say something about God helping those that help themselves?

Are you trying to say that Liberals are somehow better than Conservatives in God's eyes?

Considering Liberal stances on issues like; Abortion, Gay Marriage, Stem cell Research and too many other things to mention, my advice to you Sir is do not even go there!

WiredweirdinSF: You truly are wired weird and need some serious help for your mental illness. I wholeheartedly support President Obama, as does my whole family of hard working, tax paying, highly educated, top earning American citizens. I am also a member of three unions and thank God every day for the hard won benefits that unions have earned for their members and all working Americans. We will not go back to the days when children slaved away in factories, women died baring children they couldn't care for, and nuts like you ruled over the citizenry. Obama 2012, seriously.

    Hey Keith in Austin–
"[Gods] help those who help themselves" is a Greek parable, not a Biblical one. Get your books straight.

Trying to use the blog name of a rational person is perfectly in-line with conservative politics. You are expected to use childish and low-class tricks.

@Informed Voter: The Fact that you are, "a member of 3 UNIONS" clearly conveys why you support Obama! Now that's funny! Do a little research and take a look at the millions of dollars your Union Dues are in Obama's, union toady pockets and the ridiculous Big Government kickbacks your union leadership is getting on the backs of the American Taxpayers!

"Hey Rudy! Doesn't the Bible say something about God helping those that help themselves?"
I believe that quote is from several speeches given by Adolph Hitler – really. Look it up. Still, the source is closer to the political mindset of the GOP than the teaching of Christ. Hitler too was a fascist.

I grew up in Iowa. My family were staunch Republicans (with the exception of Kennedy) and to this day I see why. Now, as I look from afar, I see a state where people are letting their purism shine through and my home state is losing the battle with people like me who are firmly behind Romney. Why? Because he is the only candidate who can beat Obama. I hope the people of Iowa wake up and realize that their staunch conservative views will mean nothing if Obama gets reelected. They would have handed the Presidency to him again on a silver platter if they vote for anyone but Romney. And voters like me will never step foot in the Republican party again because they would have condemned this country to four more years that will solidify the path we are on right now. A path where America is nothing more than a second rate country no better than any other. WAKE UP IOWA! Vote for Romney. He's not the devil.

With the nuts running on the repo ticket,I wouldn't be jumping up and declaring I am a repo. You all can't be serious. Don't you have at least one person that just might be presidential and have a brain and high morals? OL Mitt has been flip flopping for over 20 years now. Rich guy not in touch with middleclass at all. Bachman is just plain looney throwing false facts around and hoping something will stick. Paul is a bigot as seen in his news letters. OL newt just lies and can you see his wife as first lady? She use to be the other woman. Sure glad they preach morals. All seem to be writting books and are using this foram as a photo opp. No wonder all you repos can do is attack the president. You have no morals no base and no candidate worth talking about. So just do what you are best at throw mud. That takes no brains at all.

@Keith in Austin. If you had done your homework, and it's apparent that you havent, YOU would know that NO WHERE in the bible does it say ANYTHING about "those who help themselves..." Stop being parrot for right winged crap and take a minute to learn something useful. It's ill informed/misguided souls like you that keep these crappy politicians so sure about how much stuff they can get away with. re tard.

Keith and Wiredwierd, Just want to wish my two conversative friends a wonderful new year. I certainly do not agree with your politics. But I'm going to count on the possiblity that next year, your intellect eventually takes over, and you can no longer post the Tea-Potty garbage, out of simple embarassment and realizing the stupidity that is this band of loons.

I can hope can't I? Anyway you two, have a joyous and safe new year
