(CNN) - Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska announced Tuesday that he will not run for re-election next year.
Nelson, 70, said in a statement that it was time to "step away from elective office, spend more time with my family, and look for ways to serve our state and nation."

That's a pipe dream if I ever heard one. There won't be a republican president for the next few decades. You republicans tend to get amnesia. A republican president is what got us into this fix we're in now. As far as the House goes, democrats will take back the House next year all thanks to the radical teapublicans inthe House.
