Gingrich intrigued by a Rice-Biden VP face-off

Decorah, Iowa (CNN) – Vice Presidential nominee Condoleezza Rice? Newt Gingrich considered the idea when a woman told the GOP presidential candidate she’d like to see the former secretary of state debate Vice President Joe Biden.

“I would say that that would be about as great a mismatch of knowledge versus ignorance as we’ve seen,” Gingrich told a crowded basement at Mabes Pizza on Tuesday night.

The former House speaker prefaced his commentary by saying it should not be construed as endorsing any particular person for the vice presidential nomination, but added that Rice “is a terrifically smart person and I do think the spectacle of her debating Biden would be one of the more enjoyable moments of 2012.”

Gingrich speculated Republicans may not have to worry about debating the current vice president because President Barack Obama may select another running mate in 2012.

“Well of course that would depend whether or not Biden is still on the ticket by that stage,” Gingrich said, wrapping up the first day of his bus tour in northeast Iowa.

People tend to underestimate Biden because of his "Joe from Scranton" schtick, but he is actually pretty knowledgable when it comes to foreign affairs. Rice certainly has a great resume, but the idea that she would mop the floor with Biden is pure wishful thinking on the part of Gingrich (who, incidentally, is one of those guys whose intelligence is consistently overestimated).

Rice, as National Security advisor, should have had MORE knowledge of the LIE that led to sooo many American deaths. She knew she was LYING when she scared America with her comment of a Mushroom cloud. Of all the Bush minnions she was the one pushing the WMD lies the most!
How can she sleep nights knowing she caused all those deaths/maimings?

Actually, it would be the greatest mishmash of good versus evil. Biden was not the one who ignored warnings about the 9/11 events, then supported a lie regarding WMDs– dragging our country into a unfunded, unplanned war.

Yes, let's hear her defend the lies of the Bush administration that got us into Iraq. Let's find out whose idea it was to do the war "off budget" so we get the bills without the money to pay for it, adding trillions to the national debt. Was it hard to stand there knowing that Cheney was pulling the strings?

She is just an example of neo-con thinking that got us into the mess in Iraq and other stupid thinking. Just because a place has elections doesn't make it a democracy. There needs to be more than that. The tea-publicans would be smart to remember that. There is an active foreign policy and then there is an overactive foreign policy that happened in the previous administration.

LOL! This time, when Rice gets all huffy about whether her honesty is in question (as she did before Congress), I would expect Biden to reply "absolutely. We now know that your lied many times about WMDs and mushroom clouds."

Is he saying that Rice is ignorant? Because I sure as heck know it isn't Biden that is ignorant. Oh wait, maybe for all his grandiois ideas it is really Newt that is ignorant. That guy just never knows when to keep his mouth shut. Condolezza Rice is way to astute to have anything to do with this guy.
