Washington (CNN) – Are you feeling uninspired this election season? Are you sick of all the attention being slathered on a small group of die-hard partisans in Iowa and New Hampshire? Do you think the political system's broken and your voice is ignored?

If you're looking for a change from the usual left-right, liberal-conservative, Democrat-Republican dynamic, you may get your wish. There's a new group in the 2012 election, and it's aiming to redefine presidential politics by going around the major party machines and putting an alternative choice on the ballot in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Santorum: Paul too liberal even for Democrats

Coralville, Iowa (CNN) - Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum said he doesn't see Ron Paul as his main opponent but nonetheless proceeded to jab at the Texas Congressman, suggesting he's too radical and unelectable.

"Oh no, not really," Santorum said when asked if he sees Paul as his chief competitor. "But I am concerned on the national security issue that voters here in Iowa understand the real consequence of putting someone up in a race against Barack Obama who would be in the Dennis Kucinich wing of the Democratic party."

Rep. Ron Paul's American Idol vote

(CNN) – Texas Rep. Ron Paul captured the vote of an American Idol early Thursday when winner Kelly Clarkson tweeted her support for her fellow Texan's candidacy for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

"I love Ron Paul. I liked him a lot during the last republican nomination and no one gave him a chance," she said in a tweet too long to fit within the social media site's 140 character limit. "If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he's got my vote."
