Democrats send ghost from Romney's past

(CNN) - Democrats aren't missing a chance to take aim at their favorite target: Republican presidential frontrunner and former Bain Capital executive Mitt Romney.

Randy Johnson, a worker laid off when Bain bought American Pad and Paper Company, will arrive in Des Moines on Sunday to hold a press conference, according to the Democratic National Committee.

Johnson now works with United Steelworkers and comes to the state just two days before the Iowa caucuses, the nation's first Republican presidential nominating contest.

The DNC said that along with a press conference, Johnson will talk to reporters and travel throughout Iowa "to discuss Romney's decades long record of putting profits before people."

Bain Capital acquired American Pad and Paper in 1992 and laid off a number of the workers at Johnson's plant in Indiana. After a bitter strike, the company closed the plant in 1995.

Romney has defended his record as CEO at Bain throughout his second bid for the White House. During a recent interview with TIME Magazine, Romney pivoted the conversation toward President Barack Obama's jobs record.

Team Romney responded to the attacks on Sunday.

"President Obama and his cronies know that if they have to face Mitt Romney in the general election they are going to lose, which is why they continue their 'kill Romney' strategy. Seeing as President Obama is the greatest job-killing president in modern history, it's fitting. Next November, voters will hold President Obama accountable for his abysmal record no matter what distractions he tries to create," Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said in a statement.

Wake up and smell the coffee you sniveling Republican hacks ... Your boy Mitt isn't presidential material. So, take shelter in your Obama bashing because it's all you've got left ... And it isn't much ...

Yeah right. Obama is the biggest job killer in history? You must be thinking of the "president" that came before him.

Why do Republicans not seem to care about the jobs which Romney has cost people? It amazes me that they think he can relate to them or would govern in poor or the working class's interests. Most politicians are only interested in lining their own pockets just look at them, Gingich gets 60 thousand dollars for a speaking engagement, and Palin, is now a millionaire. The rest of us are on a sinking ship while the rich get to lounge in their "ivory towers".

Obama has had the misfortune of presiding over an economy that was a basket case when he took over...not that he has the spine to lead the country back to boomtimes or anything. It's a different story when Romney personallly was giving pink slips to employees to further increase his own millions while he jockeyed for war in the Middle East and made sure his own rich boys didn't have to get shot at. He's the posterboy for super-rich who are willling to sacrifice the livelihoods and children of the lesser classes for their own gain.

Its hilarious reading all these comments, pretty much nobody has any idea what actually goes on in the USA because they are so partisan.

Looking in from the outside, it is no wonder your country is failing along with the far left of Europe.

Nobody has a right, in the USA, to criticize any other country or even yourselves. Politics has becomes a farce for you.

The guy made his millions by planting hatchets in the backs of hard-working Americans. Obama has a mixed history at best... but Romney has a clear and defined history of selling out Americans so he can get richer.

Mitt "Corporations Are People" Romney will be soundly spanked by a true leader, President Obama.

Indepent From MA–when Romney was the Gov here, he viewed his position as one of a stepping stone to bigger and better thinwgs...most politicians have similar aspirations...but who is this man? Why is this man not being judged By his actions? In a rare public moment, I met Mitt in line at a local farm stand while shopping for a few fresh items. Mitt wouldn't give me or anyone the time of day...not even a friendly hello. Not very neighborly nor not representative of a man who wants to be the champion of the people...unless you really think that "corporations are people.". But while at Bain Mitt bought companies, ripped them apart and sent the people to the unemployment line. The Who wrote a song about Mitt..."eminent front" perfectly describes this phony from corporate America. But the real tragedy is that Mitt tries to cry out that he wants to restore Americas values. What? The values of getting a good jobs, paying taxes and taking pride in one's accomplishments? When you're a job destroyer, it is dubious to claim you want to restore America's values.

Mitt has a Job's Plan. More of what he knows best, shut out middle class American workers, OUTSOURCE their jobs to communists in China and pocket the difference. America needs a president. Apparently so does Communist China. Mitt run for Chinese premier and let one of the REAL Republicans run here.

    January 2, 2012 12:37 am at 12:37 am |

Romney is toast when the parade of once middle class Americans are on parade explaining how Mit's jobs plan was no more than amassiong vast welath at the expense of American jobs. And his chosen winner – MARXISTS IN CHIINA@!!!!! Hey Mitt, tell the truth – YOU ARE A HEDGE FUND MANAGER, BOSTON BANKER CONNECTED OUTSOURCER. The Chinese Communists are your n umber one support base.

    January 2, 2012 12:39 am at 12:39 am |

Mitt Romney should be tried for TREASON, not running for President. This man amassed a VAST personal fortune OUTSOURCING decent middle class jobs once supporting the tax base here in our country. And where did Mitt personally decide to send those jobs? COMMUNIST CHINA. Hey Mittens, rather than raid America for personal greed, consider running for Chinese Premier. You know, the place you actually did something for a country. Sure as Toilet Water wasn't here. You are a disgrace to this country.

Mitt Romney is a machine. Hes the guy i want watching over the country while i go to work. Barack Obama wasn't prepared to be president. He was elected based on personality and popularity and not substance. He isn't half the leader that Mitt Romney is. The only thing that will beat Romney is the laziness of americans who want everything paid for without having to work for it.
