(CNN) - Democrats aren't missing a chance to take aim at their favorite target: Republican presidential frontrunner and former Bain Capital executive Mitt Romney.
Randy Johnson, a worker laid off when Bain bought American Pad and Paper Company, will arrive in Des Moines on Sunday to hold a press conference, according to the Democratic National Committee.

Johnson now works with United Steelworkers and comes to the state just two days before the Iowa caucuses, the nation's first Republican presidential nominating contest.
The DNC said that along with a press conference, Johnson will talk to reporters and travel throughout Iowa "to discuss Romney's decades long record of putting profits before people."
Bain Capital acquired American Pad and Paper in 1992 and laid off a number of the workers at Johnson's plant in Indiana. After a bitter strike, the company closed the plant in 1995.
Romney has defended his record as CEO at Bain throughout his second bid for the White House. During a recent interview with TIME Magazine, Romney pivoted the conversation toward President Barack Obama's jobs record.
Team Romney responded to the attacks on Sunday.
"President Obama and his cronies know that if they have to face Mitt Romney in the general election they are going to lose, which is why they continue their 'kill Romney' strategy. Seeing as President Obama is the greatest job-killing president in modern history, it's fitting. Next November, voters will hold President Obama accountable for his abysmal record no matter what distractions he tries to create," Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said in a statement.

More lies from Rove's neecon robot programming.
Laying off workers is an immediate disqualifier for being president? So if a person refuses to layoff and instead allows the company to go bankrupt so EVERYONE loses their job, that would be ok? That has been the mentality in Washington, which is why we are trillions in debt.
Gee, I was hoping all the liberal tools would take a break....but no..... the unemployed still have a lot of time on their hands based on all posts this morning. Yeah, Romney has got this problem with jobs...he expects to run a business at a profit as opposed to the government loving subsidies...silly man...he must have had at least business 101....oh well
people are out of work because of Obama?... most of the job losses were in 2008... that was when the office i worked closed, after 30 years.... October 22, 2008
any jobs plans proposed by the President have been soundly dumped on by the GOP
@ Ray E (Georgia)..
Seems that you have conveniently forgotten that the stock market was under 6000 when Obama took office. It is now over 12000.... Obama has been good for the economy and the rich has gained from it... Yes, the economy is still in poor shape – but that is because the Republicans have done everything to keep it from getting better in order to defeat Obama.
One reason that I left the Republican Party is that Republcans just cannot tell the truth, they cannot admit when they are wrong, and they so easily resort to lies and fabrications. Why is that?
The Bible tells us to be moderate in ALL things – the Republicans are extreme is ALL things (the more hate and less compassion a Republican shows, the more he or she is loved by members of the Party).
The Bible says that lying is an abomination to God – yet Republicans cannot seem to utter a word of truth...
I could go on and and on about what the Bible says about the poor, the rich, compassion, and love...but it will make no difference because Republicans cannot see themselves at they really are... that takes humility, and Republicans are not humble... the Bible has a lot to say about arrogance and humility, too...
Anyway, you know that you are lying, and that is the bottom line...
Wow,every time I come to CNN's comments, some people really open my eyes. The unemployment rate is not 14% or 16%, it's down to average 8 – 9% national wide. Here, MA is only 7%, some may over 10% but those states have the habit of high employment rate. It's not true that Romney wanted to eliminate the capital dividend/gains to the rich, he wanted to continue the same rate, but eliminate the tax to the family whose income is < $200k, and I think is fair & benefit to the middle class. For instance, I only got a few hundreds or less each year from capital gain/dividend, why tax my income again which tax in previous years? Again, I'm not sure Romney will change his ideas next week. BTW,he's a good governor in MA and we all surprised he didn't run for the second term.
So the Dems could only find one guy Romney laid off? Maybe the're saving the tens of thousands of others for the real campaign.
Mitt should find some poor schmuck he laid off who would endorse him.
I'll never trust the Magic Underwear wearing Mittens.
Randy Johnson's press conference is one of the hundreds of Romney's ghosts to come out soon. Romney killed so many jobs and small businesses while made billions at Bain capital. He also tried to destroy the public higher education by exercising his veto on education budget bills while he was the Governor of Massachusetts. I will be happy to give a series of Press Conference telling the facts of his dangerous effort to kill the State University's financial stability in Massachusetts. Romney is a dangerous opportunist who cares nothing but building a crony capitalism in America. The voters must know his real face looking at his past record.
Remember all those terrible women who were harassing poor Herman Cain? Randy Johnson better not have ever even had a parking ticket, because the Republican slime machine is already warming up.
I voted for Obama..but I won't again. People believe want they want to believe, instead of acknowledging the facts. Obama is now running on class warfare..(tax the millionaires), when the truth of the matter is, if you took all the 1% money that would only pay for 21 days of deficit spending. Obama and Bush and whatever politician you want to name is at fault for this. Remember Obama's inaugural speech.."we are not red states or blue states we are the United States." I loved it. But now he is pitting American's against each other this kind of rhetoric.
United States' poorest people are the world's 1%. Don't blame people who realized the "American Dream" and make them out to be the villains.
Andrea should have not been drunk before he gave that statement. Does Romney think that this approach will win over independents?
If you could create a timeline for the GOP candidates (all of them) it would be amusing to see how long their collective noses have been growing over the past year! It's a wonder any of them can get through a doorway. I'm going to have 'over twenty-five million' friends over today for a party. No, really. Happy New Year!
Thank God, Canada has a parliamentary system of government ... this American mess is going to drive me crazy! Everyone acting and talking like a bunch of fools.
Who writes this stuff anyway?
A team divided is a losing team!
On a losing team there are no winners.
America is starting to realize that they really don't want to be a team of losers.
Undermining the President hasn't created jobs.
Romney's claim to fame is efficiency expert, you know the team that comes in, lays off half the company then sells it to a company that wants to move it out of town. Yep, no job and you can't sell your house.
@Rick Sutter: probably one of the truest statements ever posted here.
Ray E from Georgia,
Blame Georgia W Bush for all this Mess, and give President Obama the Praise he deserving for turning this economy.
Romney is channeling Newt Gringrich in trying to rewrite his own history. Won't work, Mittster. Your record is your record, and it's an ugly one of corporate greed and insensitivity.
Ha! Obama is so worried about running against Romney. I LOVE IT
Romney thinks everyone believes him and nobody studies him...arrogance thy name is Mitt.
@Ray E. (Georgia): "The Democrats have Bain Captiol, whatever that is, the Republicians have the 15.5 Trillion dollar Federal Debt.not to mention 16 Percent un employment, 46 Million on food Stamps, Millions of Morgages under water tons of people below the poverty line. Heck Re-Elect Obama!"
"Bain Capitol" (actually, "Bain Capital" with an "a"; when you spell it with an "o," you're referring to the building) is the company Romney founded; he made millions breaking up American companies, laying off American workers and outsourcing American jobs. Do a quick google search to learn more.
All the economic ills you attribute to President Obama were caused by Republican economic policies; if President Obama hadn't been elected, we'd be in a Great Depression. THIS IS FACT.
And Rick Sutter, my post may not change Ray's mind, but I sure as hell am not going to sit here and let his lies go unanswered!
Mittens' spokesperson, Andrea, said, "Seeing as President Obama is the greatest job-killing president in modern history, it's fitting."
So I guess being able to lie with a straight face is a requirement for being on Mittens' team?
Catholics go to confession; how do all these Mormons handle this sin of lying to gain power and money?
Karl Rove loves Mittens because Mittens, like GW Bush before him, will be his puppet. And like Rove's last presidential nominee, John McCain, Mittens has proven he is willing to do anything to be elected.
Wonder if Rove will dredge up the Shrilla from Wasilla to be Mittens' running mate?
Obama's "change" is all we have left in our wallets! He spends all his time in Hawaii with his family...what happened to the healthcare?? What a JOKE!
@ Linda from Virgina....
if you think Obama spends ALL his time in Hawaii with his family then you must live under a rock in rural Virgina. He spends no more time there than Bush did in Crawford when he was POTUS. You right wingers are so HATEFUL you make stuff up when the facts go against you. Right now our sorry govenor is spending ALL his time away from Texas as our education rates are falling and unemployment is rising. But he's collecting his pension we are paying him tough.
