Reality show dad backs Santorum

(CNN) – Jim Bob Duggar, who stars in a reality TV show with his wife and 19 children, showed up on the Iowa campaign trail Monday for fellow dad and GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum.

"He has a proven track record. He's a proven Christian Conservative. He has always done what's right," Duggar told CNN at a campaign stop in Iowa, one day before the state's closely-watched caucuses.

Duggar, his wife Michelle, and their children (10 boys and nine girls, all with names starting with "J") have long been featured on TV. Their most recent show, "19 Kids and Counting," appears on TLC.

Large families are something Duggar and Santorum share in common. Of the 2012 GOP candidates, Santorum has the most biological children, with seven kids. Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman also has seven children, but two of them are adopted.

The Duggar family frequently talks about their Christian faith and cited Santorum's unapologetic religious beliefs as a reason for their support.

"He is somebody that goes and really just votes from his heart and votes on his convictions, votes on things based on the Constitution of the United States and the Bible. And that's the kind of man we want to support," Duggar said.

He added that 12 of his kids are now stumping for the contender. Two of his sons, he said, helped turned the family bus into a traveling advertisement for Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator who's now surging in Iowa.

"You may not agree with everything that [Santorum] has done in the past," Duggar said "But you know what, you're not going to find a perfect candidate, unless it's Jesus Christ running."

But how much does this couple care about anybody outside their family? How much will they do for "least among us"? Perhaps much but probably not if they are just like the other evangelicals that tout their "faith". In many cases "faith" is nothing but a code word for scared and angry people who need a place to hang their hat.

So Jim Bob has enough kids to play a baseball game all by themselves. What does his opinion mean too me? Not a Darn thing. Maybe he should play more with a baseball than his wife.

Jesus Christ was not a politician and would never be so. You confuse the secular with the spiritual. Your brand of theocracy is not welcome in the US.

Rick Santorum drove a dead fetus across the country and forced his very young children to cuddle up with it, and sing to it, for many hours. Why do I find this on the internet, but when they talk about it on the news all you hear is him crying about losing a child? It happened and that is basically how Santorum himselft described it (minus the word force, but those kids were between 2 and 9 years old, so it was force). This sort of reporting would be like someone shooting their parents, and then when the news reports it all you hear is the killer crying and then talking about how he's sad that he lost his parents.

So a guy who owes his livelihood to the income he receives for making his wife into a baby factory is now an endorser? Geez! This guy has about as much standing as Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan. In fact, he CAN walk down the street and unless his tribe is with him, no one would know who he is. So why should anyone else pay attention to what he says? Not that I am about to take political advise from either of the two troubled ladies I mentioned above.

No birth control. They let God decide how many children they have.
Do you think minimum wage couples would be praised for letting God decide how many children to have?
