(CNN) - In a move that has angered Republicans, President Obama is expected on Wednesday to make a recess appointment of Richard Cordray to be the first director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, sidestepping the Senate confirmation process, a senior administration official tells CNN.
The president is expected to make the official announcement at a 1:15 p.m. ET speech in Ohio, where Cordray served as attorney general.
Several precedents established state that Congress must be on recess for atleast 3 days to have a "recess appointment". A recess apointment is supposed to be used in an emergency or when Congress will not be available for an extended period of time.
This actually breaks with the administration's own policy, as dictated in front of the Supreme Court in 2010. YOU have to do your research.
President Obama is a master chess player.
The GOP has fatally miscalculated his abilities, and his intentions.
It really wasn't fair to pit his genius against their so-called "brawn".
When will the press and the "left" in America admit the facts: they got swept up in the moment and elected a novice politician to the highest office in the land...and the man's clueless. He is more interested in the redstribution of wealth to his political base than he is revitalizing the country's industrial base. He is more interested in divisive discussions of class warfare than actually harnassing the power of the country to heal itself. Basically, in a word, he has no idea how to LEAD. The Dems would be so well served to challenge their sitting President, but, alas, they have no courage to do it.
Oh my, someone challenging the messiah... Jump in liberals...
