Democrats stage rally on House floor urging GOP to come back to work

Washington (CNN) - House Democratic leaders went to the House floor Friday morning in an effort to embarrass House Republicans for not coming back to work right after the holidays.

Who are we fooling here? The House has been doing it's work. It is the Senate that needs to get to Work.

Why would Republican want to go to work? Their goal has been failure of our government since January, 2009.

I suppose adding the pipeline, a 20% reduction in the federal workforce and pay-fors that would have negated the benefits of the payroll tax cuts to the legislation...that wasn't theatrics? Brinksmanship hostage taking in order to make GOP/Teatroll ideological wishlist demands causing a downgrade in the national credit rating and threatening a gov't shutdown every time a continuing resolution is needed...not theatrics? "Death panels"..."not intended to be a factual statement"...the entire Teatroll Astroturf Frankenstein hissy fit...all that's not theatrics either? House votes on abortion, Planned Parenthood and other domestic social issues instead of stimulus and jobs legislation...not theatrics? Xenophobic fear-mongering boogeyman hearings on Muslims...not theatrics? The list goes on and on and on. This Denham clown must be on shrooms.

What's the matter with those Democrats? Don't they realize that the Republicans in the House are too busy endorsing the candidates in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida to be bothered with doing the job they were elected to do?

In fact...some Twitter goof should hashtag it..."#GOPtheatrics" or something and start people listing every single thing the buggers have done for the past 3+ years that was purely motivated by self-centered political avarice and their "number one goal" of making Obama a 1 term POTUS.

What!? The Dems have to "embarrass" the GOP-TP to do what they're Paid to do? They have been behaving like spoiled brats all year! They need to be voted out of office Now, if not sooner! We should just refuse to pay them, how can we go about doing that??

  8. The Greedy Old Pigs have declared class war on US!

The GOBP deathcult keeps running for office by saying "government is broken." What they don't tell you is that rather than fix government, they keep making it worse so they can keep saying it's broken. It's all quite un-American when you think about it,

"The House has been doing it's work."

What work would that be? You mean lowering America's credit rating? Or is it the part about how they ignore jobs? I guess it does take a lot of work to ignore the two thirds of America that wants the Bush tax cuts for the filthy rich ended and a new millionaire's surtax. They must be exhausted after obstructing that.

"The Dems have to "embarrass" the GOP-TP to do what they're Paid to do?"

I don't knwo what's crazier: having to resort to those kinds of tactics in an attempt to get the GOP/Teatrolls to do their jobs and stop trying to break the gov't OR thinking that the GOP/Teatrolls are even remotely possessed of the requisite ability to sense shame and guilt such that those tactics might work int he first place.

Haven't Republicans been misleading the public all week about the recess appointments? How can Congress be in session when the House Republicans are out of town? And if the Senate "needs to get to Work", doesn't that mean that Senate is not in session either? The Senate did take a recess on Tuesday until today because the House wasn't in order. History is not going to be kind to Republicans under the Obama administration.

  14. Truth and Nothing But the Truth

Why bother??? The Democrat controlled Senate refuses to vote or act on anything and Obama just says he's going to veto everything. Rather stupid of Nancy Pelosi and Debbie Wassman Schitz to call attention to the DO-NOTHING-DEMOCRATS.

And it was quite comical for hear our Divider-in-Chief saying today that the House needed to pass the tax cuts for the full year when that is EXACTLY what they did, AND HE WOULDN'T SIGN IT!

Democrats, the American people are NOT stupid. We have seen the damage you have done to this country and its economy and know more of you need to be thrown out in 2012 because you certainly were too dumb to get the message of the 2010 elections.

Wow – the House GOP is "furious" with Obama's recess appointments, and they won't even show up to work?
    What a bunch of hypocrits!

I totally agree with Larry. The main goal of the Republicans for the past three years has been to make sure the economy stays in the tank in order to give them a better shot at defeating the president. They have never cared for the American people thus their constant obstruction and just say NO philosophy. To me this is nothing short of treasonous. You can count on the Republicans doing absolutely nothing in the coming election year to help Americans. Their sole concern is beating President Obama and their rich friends who they will guard and protect til the end.

come back to work for WHAT?? The Dems might get more done with the Tea Party morons out of the HOUSE. All they do is obstruct anyway.

And here I thought that Congress was in session all this time because the GOP-led House wouldn't let it adjourn. So the GOPers say they are there, but really they are not there when it comes down to actually working on anything. Interesting.
