Soledad Reports: Former Clinton supporter searches for a candidate

Note: Watch "Starting Point" with Soledad O'Brien weekdays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET on CNN and check back here as she files reports from New Hampshire.

Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN) - Mary Tourlitis decided to spend Monday visiting every event of every Republican's event. She volunteered for Hillary Clinton's campaign but left "hurt and bitter" after she lost.

Now she's an independent in search of a candidate. "So far I'm leaning towards Romney because other than 'Romneycare,' which is different than 'Obamacare' because states can make their own decisions," she said. "Because of his business expertise and his ability to run companies and his foreign policy experience."

She can't imagine voting for Obama because she didn't feel like he had the experience "and I still don't." She feels like Obama got an easy ride from the media "because they were using the race card. It wasn't his time"

The Republicans are their choice because of their standing on fiscal matters, not the social issues she sees some candidates focusing on. "I'm not into social issues, pro-life, pro-choice, the gays, I think people have a right to make their own decisions. I care about jobs, the economy, the future."

She just isn't clear yet she said which one has the best plan. She has just one day to decide.

There have been robo-calls being made around the country trying to encourage people to write Hillary Clinton in as a candidate on the Democratic primary ballots. It is a strong anti-Obama message. No sponsor name or group is ever given, and the caller ID comes up blank.

Only foreign experience is how to Ship jobs overseas. Bain Capital–China. o.k, she is stupid. None of GOP is even worth thinking. o.k,

And she’s not playing the gender card…She probably didn’t vote for Obama anyway. Good riddance DINOsaur. We’re looking forward not backwards to the same old failed policies of George Bush.

She obviously doesn't have any idea what Romney and Bain actually do. She also doesn't understand that the US is not a business and really can't be run like one. Romney didn't actually run companies, and what the heck is she talking about his foreign policy experience? Huh? Romney doesn't have any foreign policy experience. He did not run businesses – and he was not a "job creator" – he was a wealth creator, and there's a huge difference.

    Uninformed voters...argh!!!

Keep looking lady, if jobs and the economy are your interests Republicans have nothing to offer. In 2010 they were all ablut jobs, for 2 year no jobs bills voted on not even the President's bill. They found time to vote on in God we Trust as a slogan, banning Sharia laws, attacking abortion rights but NO JOBS. Fool me one....

Does she think people will have the choice on the social issues if any of the Reps. are elected?? These social issues are equally important in how we live our lives. Sounds as though she continues to hold bitterness re:Clinton. That is not a good thing. I was a strong supporter of our VP, but I do believe our pres. is working very hard for the middle class. I haven't seen that in any Rep.-with the possible exception of Huntsman.

Puleeze. Lady, Romney wrote Romneycare/Obamacare. He made his career as a jobs-killer. He, himself, has said about 50 times recently that he is affirmative on a tradtional war on Iran, and we still haven't paid for Bush's 2 wars. His tax policies and economic policies shadow George Bush's to a fault. Romney couldn't be further from Hilary Clinton. Get a clue!

What kind of sentence is this: "Mary Tourlitis decided to spend Monday visiting every event of every Republican's event." Are there multiple events at Republican events?

Anyway, Mary isn't paying attention to the facts. Romney has a history of dismantling companies and shedding jobs and/or sending them overseas. His record of job creation while Massachusetts Governor was 3rd worst in the country. On foreign relations, he plans to institute retaliatory actions against the Chinese. Really, who do you think buys 80% of our debt. What would happen to the economy if the Chinese stopped buying our debt and turned against us economically? The recession that would follow would make the current one look like a picnic and it doesn't take a Ph.D. in economics to figure this one out.

The Chinese have to be handled with kid gloves, not a sledge hammer because theirs is infinitely bigger than ours. If we didn't owe them anything, that would be different. Romney may understand business, but he doesn't understand world politics.

As far as Obamacare, it's working. Why everyone thinks socialized medicine is horrific, I don't know. The Dutch live five years longer than we do and they do it for 60% of what we pay for health care and cover everyone in the country. That sounds like a recipe for success to me.

She is not serious. She was never a Democrat in the first place. I am not happy with the state of affairs but my heart remains with Democratic party.

""Because of his business expertise and his ability to run companies and his foreign policy experience.""

Do these meatheads just invent this crap in their heads? What foreign policy experience? Mittens has exactly ZERO foreign policy experience. Is she counting the Olympics? WTF?? Moreover, foreign policy is the one area in which even the GOP/Teatrolls have to put down the silly talkin points and offer grudging acknowledgment of Obama's successes. This woman makes absolutely no sense....which is precisely what I'd expect from someone who supported Clinton and decided that voting for people with the exactly the opposite policy positions of Clinton, all out of spite towards Obama, is somehow a rational response.

Surprise surprise, an old white woman didn't like the black guy? Talk about playing the race card? Simply put, she's bitter a black man won the Presidency before a woman. She said herself she's bitter. Pretty transparent, which is what she likes her Presidents to be, both in character and skin color.

This lady is clearly confused. If she was a Clinton supporter, it must've been primarily because she was a woman. because I have no idea how in the world you go from supporting Hillary to supporting Romney. What actual foreign policy experience does he have? He knows how to run companies alright.......right into the ground.

So she doesn't want to vote for Obama because she supports Hilliary but voting against Obama will throw Clinton out of one of the most powerful jobs in the world. With supporters like this SOS Cinton doesn't need enemies.

This woman is a racist. She was a democrat until they nominated a black man. Then she left "hurt and BITTER".

I'd say that Romney has about as much foreign policy experience as Obama did when he was elected.

Willard has foreign policy experience, really? The federal government is not a business-it is not about the shareholders, it is about the people. It seems as if she is just bitter and simply wants someone else because Obama beat Clinton in the primary. But look how well they play together now – adults – not holding on to bitterness, like John McCain. But to each his own.

Some nasty comments on here towards a lady I am sure you don't even know. Perhaps she is looking for a moderate candidate?

People are hurt and bitter all the time because the candidate of their choice doesn't get the job. Switching parties over that... stupid.
