But politically, the timing couldn’t have been better.

"Is Obama now cavorting with the enemy that is the 1%??!!"

Nope. He's using the tools at his disposal to give them the choice of exposing themselves for what we've been accusing them of being OR bringing jobs back home in order to help stabilize and build our country. The smart part is that he's trying to incentivize the latter, which will make it all the more damaging for them when/if they choose the former. And the fun part is that when the GOP/Teatrolls oppose these suggestions as part of their knee-jerk autonomic hyperpartisan hypocrtical conniption fit, they'll be doing themselves alot of damage with independents. Enjoy. I know I will.

35% tax rate? Sure, before deductions, subsidies and other handouts. The REAL rate US Corporations pay is one of the very lowest in the industrialized world. Taxes are not the problem.

"OK, this is the THIRD whacked out delusional conspiracy theory the lefties have posted here in the last TWO DAYS. "

There's nothing crazy about it. In fact, it fits in perfectly with the typical randian "rational self-interest" nonsense the GOP/Teatrolls think turns the "free market" into a fairy tale panacaea for all the world's woes such that economic activity in a regulatory vacuum that confuses anarchy for "freedom" magically self-corrects and leads us down the path to an imaginary utopia where everyone's needs are met. If you're a hedge fund manager or investor, it's in your best interest to vote for the worst candidates...the ones who will strive to implement ideological stupidity that has been debunked by the historical record (laissez faire trickle down pixe dust) instead of practical, pragmatic solutions with proven results (Keynesian economics).

Boehner is still in S. America trying to outsource more of our jobs. (He is supposed to be here working to earn what we pay him).

Vote ALL the republicans out of the House of Representatives in 2012.

Tax breaks with a purpose. I love it. Not to be confused with tax breaks requiring nothing in return, and based on the hopes that those on the receiving end will do the right thing, which as we all now know they didn't.
    Go ahead Mr. President.
