Romney brings in $24 million the past three months

(CNN) - Mitt Romney's presidential campaign touted its latest fundraising numbers on Wednesday.

The campaign said they raised $24 million the past three months, bringing to $56 million the amount they've brought in since the start of the 2012 presidential election cycle.

They also reported having $19 million cash on hand as of January 1, and pointed out the candidate, a multi-millionaire, did not make a personal loan or contribution to his campaign during the fourth quarter.

The former Massachusetts governor brought in around $14 million in the third quarter and around $18 million in the second quarter.

"Mitt Romney's growing financial support is representative of the growing momentum for our campaign. In order to defeat President Obama in November, we will need this continued strong showing of support. Mitt Romney, the campaign, and his supporters will continue the hard work of reaching out to supporters and spreading Mitt Romney's pro-growth message to get our country on the right track again," said Romney for President National Finance Chairman Spencer Zwick, in a statement.

Romney leads his rivals for the GOP nomination when it comes to campaign cash but trails President Barack Obama in the money race.

Of course he is behind Obama in fund raising because Obama has been in full time campaign fund raising mode for nearly a year now, and at the expense of the taxpayers. I guess he's decided he's a failure at leading the country so just wants to do what he does best, campaign, fund raise, give the same boring class warfare speech over and over to hide his failures.

TAX RETURNS PLEASE! People need to keep hammering Romney about his tax returns. He wanted to see Obama's birth certificate, so let's see those tax returns... NOW!

If he had all the money in the world, it wouldn't be enough for Romney. That's the difference between wealth and GREED. He's greedy (does NO good with his money).

@ Grover – Paulsen is the biggest contributor to Romney Super PAC (Restore our Future). You remember Paulsen.

He raked in a fortune as a hedge-fund manager when he bet the housing market would fail. If Romney gets in, he'll make a forturne betting that America Fails, and Romney will make sure of it. Mark my word.

All the GOP will line up and hold their nose and vote Romney because he is the new Cheney/Rove puppet. A vote for Romney is a vote to return to GWBush (Cheney/Rove) policies. If Romney is elected President we will be invading Iran this time next year. Inflating the size of government, the deficit, and going against the US Constitution to provide for the common defense...not offense. Not to mention more blood shed from our sons and daughters. And no I don't expect any of Romney's 5 sons to sign up and shed their blood.

Hey we cannot afford the repubs to win and take the only competitive edge that Americans have against the world, which is demand power, and give it to the rich who then look at America and see that they don't have any demand power left, so the go over seas to China. We are living in a global economy for crying out loud. If the rich cannot make money in America, the repubs have given them the green light to go over seas, to the deathrinent of millions of American jobs, I think it is called free enterprise.

Once there is only one Republican candidate in the race, then Obama will not be able to match up with the fund raising totals. You also seem to confuse leadership and campaigning. Speaking about legislation currently in the Congress to The People is not campaigning. It is called communicating with the people. It is something that leaders of this nation do.

Yeah, investing in failing companies to try and save them, AND ALL THE JOBS THERE, is just no damn good. He should have just let them all fail and put EVERYBODY in the unemployment lines. Yeah, that evil Romney thinking he can save just some jobs and not all of them. Liberal fairness dictates that ALL must be treted equally and ALL must be unemployed.

Welcome to the looney lefty world of "fairness".

That line is getting pretty lame, Rudy. I guess it's only the voters in battleground states that need to be communicated to, huh? And I guess those fundraisers he conducts after his "information sharing sessions" are just a coincidence too. Look at yourself in the mirror, Rudy – even you aren't buying what your selling.

Like he was willing to let the auto industry die. Neither you or him can deny that. Now look at the auto industry making a profit. He certainly is a job killer.

So lets see... the big banks are making profits now too – after being bailed out with taxpayer money. Are you going on record as saying you agreed with TARP?

Bankruptcies ae handled EVERY DAY in this country using the court system. They would have given them a FAR BETTER chance of survival that Obama's lawless actions. Obama broke those laws and took over GM and Chrysler to keep all the union contracts in place and then hand the companies over to the unions. Those companies STILL suffer from the disease that caused their failure, excessively costly union costs and benefits.

And BTW, those companies DID lose jobs, people WERE layed off and fired. MANY dealerships were closed. Obama must accept responsibility for the lose of THOSE jobs. That's what one gets when they get involved in a turnaround situation.

I'm sorry but can some1 please explain to me how investing your money for profit as to which if the company fails you make a boat load of money or if they do good you can then down size and sell off the company to make a boat load of money. How are you called a JOB Creator...? I thought and help me if I’m wrong, but coming up with ways to help put people to work, opening/ coming up with new ideas to start a company was considered a JOB creator.. Sounds to me like he is just playing the Stock market or rolling the dice and hoping to hit it big either way... But I guess if that’s what you want for a Pres. then cast ur vote... He won’t get mine that is for sure

I haven't heard that but since this man has ABSOLUTELY no shame, I would not be surprised. I'm sure his small circle of supporters will be there eating his fake patriotism up not knowing it is THEIR sacrifice in blood he wants – as he will never sacrifice anything for anyone.

BTW, why do you still try to pass Romney as a job savior wannabe?
His records (which unlike his tax returns are public) shows otherwise, even some of his rivals in the (R) party are using it as their desperate last attempt to get some more votes.
