(CNN) - Christmas may be over, but a Jeb Bush presidential bid was apparently on the wish list for George and Laura Bush.
The former first lady told a Florida audience Wednesday that she and her husband, the former president, hoped her brother-in-law would decide to run for president this year, according to the Sarasota Herald Tribune.

"I wish he would," Laura Bush said when asked if Jeb, the former Florida governor, will run for president someday. "We wanted him to this time."
Despite public pleas, Bush declined to run for the Republican nomination in 2012. However, the son of former President George H.W. Bush did not rule out a run in the future.
While speaking as part of the Ringling College Library Association's annual town hall meeting series, Laura Bush pointed to his work on education as evidence he would make a "wonderful" president.

Laura, you truly are delusional.

Really? Did Rush, Beck, or Sean tell you that? Romney's young men put themselves on the campaign trail making stump speeches. That makes them fair game to political criticism. No one paid them any mind until junior put his foot in his mouth.
Unfair as it may be, Jeb Bush's father and brother tarnished the Bush name for generations to come. But thanks for providing another example of how desperate the GOP is for anyone except Romney.

Just an observation: What First Lady was totally apparent in doing next to nothing while her husband was in office? Laura frequently was there standing next to George W, smiling and saying and doing absolutely nothing.

I mean are you serious, or just uninformed???
No more Bushes. No more Clintons. No more. HECK, no.
Democrats would love to see a Republican ticket of those formidable debaters, Mitt "I bet you $10,0000" Romney and Sarah "You Betcha' Palin. They would not want to be challenged by the more articulate Jon Huntsman and Newt Gingrich.
NO MORE BUSHES!!! I wish Prescott was still alive so I can give him my two cents about his evil spawns.
I always thought she was the smart one. She married money she wasn't born with it.
After this comment? She is dumb as any other bush!!!
Wow! I'm not necessarily in favor of another Bush as president, but the comments on here by the knowledge handicapped left continue the stereotype. If you don't want to be stereotyped, then don't fit the stereotype.
Truth and Nothing But the Truth,
First, there is not another member of the Obama family that is in or seeking political office. Secondly, to discount a person because of who they are related to is a perfect example of shallow and lazy thinking. Do you want to be associated with all of your relatives? Do they want to be associated with you?
Obama 2012 – Because logic rises above anger
@fair is fair, that is what I was talking about, the liberals being knowledge handicapped.
Jeb is smart not to run for president. There are too many bad things that happened under the previous Bush that would be transferred to him weither he deserved it or not.
Just what we need another PITIFUL Bush for 8 years. Haven't they done enough (along with Cheney) to bring our country to its knees.
Rudy, are you forgetting all the things said about the Palin children by the leftists?????
A few stories back, 'truth the lying bagger blogger' wanted Michelle Obama to release her measurements. What a low life pervert he is. I think then that Chris Christie should also reveal his bra size.
of course he would run one day. These are the Bushes, our country's monarchy. Mitt Romney's dad ran for president also. that's what these clowns do, they save up their cash for presidential runs for their families.
The LAST thing Americans want is another BUSH in any seat of power. That family destroyed our country enough already. The last one should be in jail for international war crimes and acts of treason committed by lying to Congress, the People, and the UN. He ran our debt up to where it is now and all Obama has been able to do is just make payments on it. Republicans are destroyers and the Bush family is a criminal enterprise.
No. More. Bushes.
Grover Norquist railed against Presidential Dynasties when it looked like Hillary might get the Dem. nomination in 2008. I'm he'll join this blog & reassert his position.
Even the bushes know that a bunch of clowns are running, starting with romney that are unelectable in the general election. Only the morons are running!!!
Third time's a charm? No. This country will never again elect a son of a Bush.
Another bad idea from The former first lady/Stepford wife.
People around the world look at what Bush/Cheney did to this country and say, "Why?" Laura looks and says, "Why not again?"
2016 Jeb is the smart one but this is not his time.

Not at all, When the kids come onto the "kids" make stump speeches, like the spouses, they become fair game. You have forgotten that mommy put Bristol on the campaign and used her as a stage prop. No one criticized the kids, just the one that was hypocritically used as campaign prop.
