Romney, Gingrich continue to spar over jobs claim

(CNN) – Newt Gingrich on Friday called on rival Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney to release records to back up the Republican front-runner's claim last month that he helped create 100,000 jobs at Bain Capital, the private equity firm that has become a central issue in the campaign of late.

"You can't run for president, have half your campaign be about your great achievements and then hide them, and it is silly to try," Gingrich said in remarks to a crowd of Cuban Americans at the Cafe Versailles coffee house in Miami.

Simply put, Newt is right on this one and he's doing the party a favor by exposing Romney's fatal weakness. After four years of swearing GWB was a mistake, "conservatives" now have Karl Rove scheming to send them down the slaughter chute to nominate.....the NEXT GWB!!!!

Romney is a vulture capitalist, a parasitic elitist, a spoiled rich kid riding on is daddy's coattails and a psychopathic predator with no regard for the average person. He pals around with neocon war criminals like Dick Cheney. He's no more than GWB without the compassion. Newt is 100% correct on this and he should go for the jugular and demand Romney's tax returns, including all the attached forms.

Here are the facts people. Romney is a good breeder nothing more. He produces lots of (worthless sons). On the other hand, Obama is a true LEADER and America would be doing a smart thing by reelecting him to a second term.

The Leader v. The Breeder. You decide.

Newt has point. You cannot make claims and not back them up with facts. Sorry, Gov. Romeny, but "I said it and that makes it so" doesn't work anymore. Mitt Romney needs to do something about his smalking [smile talking]. It no longer stimulates feeling of trust anymore. It makes it seem as if you are a salesman trying to pull a fast one.

Spar - to scrap, argue, fight and quarrel -

Willard Mitt is a corporate raider that made millions off leveraging a stock market than letting the company swim in the deep waters to sink or swim - if they made it to shore, without his help - he claims I created jobs! Give me a break Willard - you created millions that even to this day Bain continues to pay to you as part of a retirement package deal.

Mitt is the man for the Presidency. He is a success ! Newt is not a success story.

Hey, yesterday Willard Mitt did get some aid from Rudy Giuliani - he basically said those not understanding Bain Capital and the marvelous way such private venture companies work are part of the "...ignorant populace view of the economy..."
Hmmm, guess us ignorant populace just can't get our heads around things like CEO packages that gut even great running companies - like the recent one where Apples new CEO makes 378 million times as much as Apple's last CEO made (as Steve Jobs, famously, took home $1 a year)...we just don't understand that this new CEO is worth 3,780 people making a very decent six-figure salary. I mean it is so clear this CEO is worth 3,780 bright, highly paid people...
-- The real fact is people like Willard Mitt and Rudy made their fortunes off leveraging either others hard work or defending those that rule by wealth. So they keep us drinking the Republican Economic "Kool-aid"

Willard Mitt Romney likes to champion a merit-based society. But is his life one based on "merit" or "inheritance"? If my dad gave me the best education money could buy, and millions of dollars to do a start up...what are the odds I might make some money? Willard simply wants us to buy into a dream - that unfortunately is already aligned for those at the top.

Tax the very rich and especially tax inheritance over a reasonable amount - that is the way to a true merit based society. If you make it, even with heavy taxes life is good, and your kids get something...but not everything (when that number goes over some reasonable amount).

All of these attacks on Mitt sound EXACTLY like the complaints presented by OWS! Is it possible that the presumptive GOP nominee is a one percenter? AMAZING

People generally are compensated according to the monetary value they deliver to an organization. Sometimes that ends up being a fortune. Sometimes you work very hard and you are a good person but you bring a value of $30,000 a year to the organization you work for. What's wrong with that?

Bottom line, in America everyone has the chance to figure out ways to bring great monetary value to society and the chance to earn their fortune. That's been a source of great inspiration through the years and America has prospered because of it. If you want socialism, there are many places in the world you can enjoy that. Be my guest.

Romney's constant lies are finally catching up to him. It's hard to believe Mitt's other lies have not yet been called out, especially in the primary.

Contrary to his false claims, Romney-care did call for a national insurance mandate as recently as Romney's last failed presidential run. Search YouTube for the debate Fred Thompson had with Romney about this very subject.

Americans deserve a president who stands strong on principles, not flip-flopper Romney who runs away from his record and exaggerates other claims he cannot back up.

I still haven't seen Romney's birth certificate proving he's an American. His father was born in Mexico. I want proof that this guy can actually run for president.

Four and The Door,,,,I know that you could spread it, but this BS is way over the top....this has nothing to do with socialism...It is obviously apparent that you have no idea what you are talking about. So, stop pretending you are intellectual thinker on the topic.....the issue is plan and simple: Mitt made a claim and he has failed to provide actual facts to back it. End of story.

My point had nothing to do with whether or not Mitt Romney has to provide proof of every job. I doubt anyone really cares about data. It's just political whining about a successful guy who is going to be our next President. It's all part of the political process so I don't care much about that.

My point though, is that people building wealth can do so legitimately and it is fair and it is good to see people in America have that opportunity. And it's a key part of our success as a country. I'm certainly not one of the wealthy ones, but I work hard and am thankful for the hope that I might figure out how to do that someday. I have respect for those who have already done it. Obama's "class warfare" strategy just seems like it is tearing apart the fabric of our country when people like mirrorlogic get sucked into it. And for what? Re-election ambitions?

A quick check of the Staples site says 92,000 associates work there, maybe more now. What more do you need? Go check the Sports Authority web site to see how many people there owe their jobs to Romney.

Honestly can't you libtards do ANYTHING for yourself???

you continue to attack as you call them "libtards" yet Newt, who I last checked was a conservative, this is making all these accusations. Why not attack him as well, or is that like the pot calling the kettle black with you?
