BLITZER’S BLOG: Backing former opponents – in politics, it happens all the time

(CNN) - Jon Huntsman is now a former Republican presidential candidate. And, like former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty who dropped out after a poor showing in the Iowa straw poll last summer, Huntsman is now endorsing Mitt Romney.

Never mind that Huntsman said some negative things about Romney during his unsuccessful campaign. Pawlenty had coined the phrase “Obamney care” when trying to link Romney’s Massachusetts health care law to President Obama’s health care law. But Pawlenty quickly forgot about that and supported Romney on the campaign trail.

At any given point in time that politicians are not directly competing, they are both working for the same masters.

  3. GROVER NORQUIST IS A ENEMY OF THE STATE

Backing a former opponent who just last week you called unsuitable for the job is what baffles me. Huntsman stood on the debate floor last weekend and called out Romney for chastising him for being the President's ambassador to China. Now a week later he's endorsing him? For someone who was talking about restoring trust with the people, he sure lost me on this one.

It'll be worse this year. Rove is desperately trying to succeed with his Plan to Elect the Next Neocon Robot. This means he will be greasing any and all palms that can provide endorsements that delivery more rightwing sheeple to his slaughter chute. He wants Flipper the Robot to lock things up quickly, because time is the enemy.

Nobody knew Huntsman from a hole in the wall, strike one. And then they found out he worked for Obama, strike two, and even worse complemented him, strike three YOU'RE OUT!!! Horrible waste of time and money. Didn't he do the exploratory committee thing??
