Obama council repeats job-creating ideas

Washington (CNNMoney) - President Obama's jobs council on Tuesday released its latest round of recommendations detailing how the United States can be more competitive.

This time, the recommendations aren't all that new and appear unlikely to get much traction. Versions of all most of the council's recommendations have also been offered before by the Obama administration in an effort to spur job growth.

Retread ideas from the worst president in American history; the president with the legacy of Failures.

The jobs council also called upon the White House to consider "expanding and expediting the domestic production of fossil fuels - including allowing more access to oil, gas, and coal opportunities on federal lands."
    ========================================================================================
hahahaha!!!! Republicans have been saying this FOR DECADES! Instead Obama has done everything he can do to shut down domestic oil production.

Let's face facts. Obama NEVER does anything these councils or committees come up with unless it calls for a larger government control or expenditure. He simply does NOT believe in our capitalist system. He needs to go if we are to ever get out of the mess he has expanded and prolonged.

The council also wants TAX BREAKS for private industry engaged in research and development. It also says that while CORPORATE TAXES SHOULD BE LOWERED, they should also be broadened in a way that impacts more companies - especially those that now rely on loopholes to avoid paying corporate taxes.

Hey Rudy, did you even bother to read the article??? This job council is pretty much telling Obama LISTEN TO THE REPUBLICANS!!!

no wonder he's going to be a 1 termer. for some odd, unknown reason or another, they think that the government creates Jobs. wow, what a crock. I feel ashamed that I actually voted for him, last time. the gov't doesn't "create" jobs. anyone w/ 1/2 of a brain knows that. Bush thought it was "small business" that creates Jobs. Wrong Again !! IT'S BIG Business that Creates Jobs !!! not the people that have 10 people or 20 people or 30 people that work for them !! How about those FACTORIES and the MANUFACTURING PLANTS, that EMPLOY THOUSANDS of People !!! it shows you they are just trying to fool the american ppl. that's all.

"With this report, President Obama's own panel of experts has endorsed the approach to job creation House Republicans have been pursuing for more than a year," House Speaker John Boehner said.
    ************************************************************************************
Really? If most of those ideas were proposed by the Administration and the House Republicans agreed with them, then why didn't the House Repubilcans, which are led by Boehner and Cantor take any action? Could it be because they think that a worse economy is better for the Republican in the 2012 election cycle? That alone would be a reason to vote the GOP out of control of the House of Representatives. They should never use the motto "Country First: again! EVER!!!

Egads Mikey, do you EVER pay attention??!! The Republicans have been proposing and passing this approach only to have it die in the Senate complements of Harry Reid and the Democrats, who are acting in unison to protect Obama from having to veto it. Please put down the koolaide and try to keep up.

Use the profit motive. Those firms that want to sell in the United States must manufacture their products in the US. Government have the ability to force business to trade employment for access to our market

If YOU read the article, you must have selective "hearing". That being said, I am glad you see that you comment indicates that you seem to argee with the Obama Administration's past recommendations. Can you write your member of Congress and tell them to support the President?

Did you pick up on the fact that all of these ideas have been pushed before and summarily *rejected* by Republicans in the Congress? Obama wants the American people to LISTEN TO THE REPUBLICANS.

Make up your mind. Are you going to hype the credibility of the suggestions and those making them OR are you going to cherry pick the ones you like and claim the council is right on target for those, but then lambaste the council and crap on the ideas you just don't happen to like, ths making yourself a hypocrite? Choose.

Obama has given us sky rocket oil prices, high unemployment, and record numbers of people on food stamps. All this while increasing the national debt from 10.2 trillion to over 15.3 trillion dollars. This is change we didn't deserve.

VERSIONS of their recommendations, NOT their recommendations! Obama filters everything through his leftist/socialist filters to ensure it meets his ideological purity test. So if it bolsters his socialist policies and doesn't help one of the businesses he considers evil ,then he's all for it. Solyndra is a PERFECT example of this.

The record doesn't support this whatsoever. Nice try, liar. This council didn't come out and say we should implement exrtemist right wing policies designed to destroy Medicare and SS in the name of helping corporate 'Murka and the rich. Nor did it come out saying that we should adopt Ryan's nonsense budget. Grow up. Your superficial intepretations of the council's recommendations show a lack of background and accurate understanding and an overt willingness to let confirmation bias dictate your perception.

The Republicans have summarily rejected all ideas to spur job growth, INCLUDING THEIR OWN IDEAS!
It doesn't matter where the ideas that spur job growth come from. The Republicans feel that if we do get out of this recession and jobs come back to America, the voting public will give credit to Obama.
They just can't allow that to happen. They must keep everything bad so they can blame Obama for the problems they created, problems they intentionally perpetuate.
They see the voting public as a bunch of suckers because they have played them for a fool so many times.
Why should this time be any different?
If the Republicans win, they will keep doing the same things that put us in this situation to begin with and we will have nobody to blame for that tragedy of error but ourselves.

How to "Create" more jobs? Simple. Get a new President. Ok, maybe you can get one more Commision set up. The last 17 presented plenty of ideas, all rejected by Obama and the Liberals.

With the record rate of the jobless recovery that we are now experiencing with the leadership and ideas of obama and his czars there is no need to extend the unemployement payments or extend the payroll tax breaks. According to obama and his disciples unemployment is a thing of the past, everyone that wants a job will have one by years end and those that don't want to .work will be provided for by those that work.

To my good friends:Truth and Nothing But the Truth, Fair is Fair, Larry in Houston and PA_outofwork

    Three points:

    1) 22 straight months of private sector job growth, opposed to losing 750,000 jobs a month under GWB.

    2) Obama, proposed job plan to hire workers to re-build roads, highways and schools and fund the hiring of teachers, firemen, and police officers....Republican Congress: Rejected the idea, because Obama was for it.

    3) Republican Congress pass a jobs bill: 70% of if called for de-funding EPA...no suggestion of hiring workers to build highways, roads or hire firemen, police officers or teachers.

I cannot stop you guys from slamming Obama, but I will use facts to back of my positions, not name calling or lies.

    Have a good day fellas.

Truth and blah, blah, blah. Ego's are a dime a dozen in blogosphere land. If you want to be taken seriously, I'd suggest you start backing up your rhetoric with facts. Otherwise, your opinions come across for what they are: shallow and without substance. Worth a laugh or two and nothing else.

Darrell that maybe true of 22 months of job growth, but where is Pelosi with her attacks they it is not enough quick enough. Job growth after 911 was much higher than the last 22 months, and it was not enough for her why is this slower growth enough for her now.

Do you have actual bills you can reference? The only one I can find was proposed in October 2011. TWENTY_ONE MONTHS after the GOP won control of the House campaigning on JOBS, JOBS, JOBS. That bill is simply a rich man's dream – more class warfare from the wealthy. Lower the top tax rate to 25%, even though there is ABSOLUTELY NO CORROLATION between the top marginal tax rate and the unemployment rate or GDP growth using the last 63 years of data. Allow corporations to bring back overseas profits, COMPLETELY TAX FREE. Create so much red tape to pass any regulations so as to make it virtually impossible to curb undesirable activities by corporations. The good ideas in the proposal are overshadowed by the objectionable "poison pill" components.
