McCain blasts 'dangerous' Gingrich in South Carolina robocall

Charleston, South Carolina (CNN) - Mitt Romney has enlisted John McCain, one of his top campaign surrogates, to voice a robocall blasting Newt Gingrich for his "unacceptable" attacks on Bain Capital and Romney's private sector background.

The robocalls - the latest sign of the Romney campaign's renewed anxiety about Gingrich - began hitting South Carolina households last night.

"Newt Gingrich has experienced a lot of backlash over the last few days for his attacks on capitalism and Republican principles, and rightfully so," McCain says in the call. "He must have forgotten that Republicans stand up for free enterprise and strong work ethic."

Gingrich is using "talking points straight out of Barack Obama's campaign playbook" and has adopted "the dangerous anti-capitalism rhetoric used by the Democrats," McCain says in the call, which was provided to CNN by a Republican voter.

The Romney campaign wants to change the subject. Gingrich has been questioning the veracity of Mitt Romney's claim to have created 100,000 jobs by pointing out that Romney cremated jobs while at Bain. Mitt Romney wants to turn the conservation away from himself by acting as if the criticism is an attack on all of capitalism. It isn't. More significantly, Gov. Romney still has not backed up his claims that he is a jobs creator.

At least McCain knows the newter is truely dangerous for this country.. There will be more gridlock, and the same old grind in D.C. the newter is an old re-tread. We are getting a new scoop each hour, Rick Perry out, Santorum won Iowa, now the Newert as a swinger with Calistas permission and not the wife, that will air tonight on ABC. What will the christain values folks think or say? This is very revealing. This really works well with the religious consertative base.
