(CNN) – South Carolina is a state with more than 32,000 square miles stretching from the Appalachian Mountains all the way to the Atlantic Ocean.
So how do two Republican presidential candidates find themselves scheduled to be at the exact same ham house at the exact same time Saturday morning?

Both Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney are slated to be at Tommy’s County Ham House in Greenville at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, the same day as the state’s presidential primary.
Campaign officials said it’s simply a coincidence and neither candidate is trying to hog the spotlight.
It may look out of the ordinary, but a Romney campaign aide said the event—a late addition to their schedule–is no hambush, so to speak.
“It is pure coincidence and we're not changing our schedule,” the aide said.
Team Gingrich isn’t budging either. Press secretary R.C. Hammond said there’s, “no place we'd rather be."
But the former House speaker himself seemed caught by surprise when questioned on the trail about the scheduled run-in.
“Is that right?” Gingrich said after a book signing on the USS Yorktown. “That's going to be wild.”
While Gingrich and Romney aren’t expected to buddy up, Saturday’s event promises to be anything but a boar.

The shootout at Tommy's Ham House. How appropriate for this freak show to coincidentally end up at S. Carolina's equivalent of the O.K. Corral on Primary Election Day. Absolutely too funny!
Why is there only talk of Romney's tax filings? What about the other candidates showing theirs?
'This is easy. They are all pigs and none of them will ever be President. President Obama knows how to butcher pigs, bury them in the ground and make a great luau. Happily, we'll never have to dig any of these particular pigs up.
The "Ham House" sounds like a good spot for Newt, but Romney belongs at the "Waffle House'!!!!!
If I were Romney, I would call in sick on this one.
Gingrich is already full of pork...
How appropriate – the 2 kings of Pork Barrel politics at a ham house!
i see what you did there
Give 'em dueling pistols.....
I Miss Sesame Street,,, And the Word of the day Little boys and girls is "Coincidence"
pleeeezzz
A lot of pork to discuss about who's gonna bring home the bacon next November. A difficult feat that will require a hog's head of shouldering past the flank and file...
Order them some drinks and we'll have a pair of pickled pig's feet.
Does not matter if these two wanna be POTUS men are scheduled at the same time, in the same place...neither one has a snowball's chance in, well you know where, of becoming POTUS. They are two nonentities as far as presidential material, especially the newtster...even his baggage has baggage.
EXCUSE ME isnt this a campain for the presidency, lets talk about what the people are talking about on the homefront i think we need to let the people take the stage have a seat newt and romney
Enuff of the boaring cliches.
perfect setting.
Two hams in a ham house.
Bet they dont serve humble pie.
Why not? Everything about this clown car parade has been a joke. Tje only loser today will be the American peole as none of the clowns should be allowed near any position of power. Their egos are far too large to fit into the White House.
The Ham House sounds like the perfect place for two Greedy Old Pigs.
...ok, only one more 'pig joke'...... I'm sure the people won't mind a couple more hams in the store.
.... I wonder who will 'hog' the spotlight? ... sorry, I couldn't resist!
One is vulture capitalist to ship the jobs overseas, the other is matrimonial. Both are the biggest idiots of the nation, not winnable to Obama. None of the GOP talk any sense to the ordinary American point of view. Pity.
There is going to be a minimum of 2 choices for POTUS in November, likely only 2. So who do I want as a choice for the GOP?
Oddly enough, Newt is starting to grow on me as GOP choice. Maybe it's Newts underdog status, his ability to fight back or Mitts phoney smile. I am getting tired of the media dwelling on his previous marital issues. It's not that they are irrelevant, they are just one factor of many when deciding a leader and we all read the headlines. Lets get on to more relevant issues rather than the same old gossip.
Maybe because their brains are made of ham? I saw some of the interviews of Soledad in sc. Anybody but romney and more so anybody but Obama. That woman couldn't have looked more redneck and racist if she had it tattooed on her forehead!!
Let's face it. The bible thumping crowd would rather have a man who has had three wives and cheated on all of them than a Mormon who has been married to one woman for over 40 years. Does that make sense about this moral majority group of hypocrites?
not a big deal,ones a ham ,the other a porker,dats all folks.
