Santorum brings in campaign dollars

(CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum raised $4.2 million in January, according to a campaign spokesperson.

The aide said the former Pennsylvania senator experienced a "huge uptick in online donations" after last week's CNN debate. Senior campaign adviser John Brabender said they now have nearly $1.2 million cash on hand.

Rival candidate Newt Gingrich announced his haul earlier Tuesday. Spokesman R.C. Hammond said the former House speaker's campaign raised $5 million in January.

– CNN's Peter Hamby and Mark Preston contributed to this report.

Too bad he doesn't have much of a chance. He is the best option of the three, with Ron Paul a fairly close second.

What these 'conservative' don't understand is that the voters are not interested in electing a "Conservative" oligarchy no more than we want to keep the Liberal oligarchy that is in power now. We want representation and the preservation of our Republic. The extreme 'Right' and 'Left' don't represent the preservation of our Republic, they are working to impose their values upon it.
There isn't enough of the electorate fixated on 'conservative' TV or Talk Radio to make the nomination of a 'True' Conservative. The same goes for 'True' Liberal media.
The Conservative or Liberal loyalist can't elect the next President on their own. We need a President that will preserve our Republic and the Rule of Law; without imposing their ideology upon the rest of us.

  7. Just make it up

That is the way to spend your money mr and mrs republican, spend it all on someone who won't get the nomination so you don't have much to give in the general election!!!

"There is a sucker born every minute." Its great to see wealthy right winged freaks waste their money on this creepy hypocrite. Most of America is disgusted by Rick Santorum. Even the good people of Pennsylvania who first elected him, threw him out after they found out who he really was. Just another cheap hate-filled hypocrite, hiding behind the good book.

Is he using the money his wife got when she sued a chiropractor? Or is that how he got his house?

I felt that he won the CNN debate last week. He was the only candidate who scored points every time he had a turn to speak. His dismantling of Mitt Romney on health care was enlightening.

We all waste whatever discretionary we have on something we don't need. Me, it's cable and Mexican food. Others blow their couch-cushion coins on hopeless political campaigns, I guess.

Romney's people are contributing to Santorum's campaign just enough to keep him in the race inorder to split the conservative vote.
