Three questions to Newt Gingrich on primary day

Lakeland, Florida (CNN) - With polls showing Newt Gingrich trailing his arch rival Mitt Romney on primary day in Florida, the former House speaker remains confident he can still win the GOP nomination.

CNN fired off three questions to Gingrich as he was greeting voters outside a campaign office in Lakeland, Florida. He singled out Romney's negative advertising to explain his expected loss in Tuesday's primary.

CNN: Do you still see a path to the nomination?

Gingrich: "Of course. You unify the conservatives. Romney is not going to get anywhere near a majority here. You unify the conservatives. You win the delegates and you have the nomination."

CNN: Did you let your guard down here in Florida?

Gingrich: "No, I would say that when you're outspent five to one with ads that are dishonest, it's a challenge."

CNN: Are you saying he's running a dishonest campaign?

Gingrich: "Well that's what the Wall Street Journal and National Review said."

Gingrich was a good half hour early to the event in Lakeland, a sign that perhaps he's ready to put Florida behind him.

Hey, look at the pix to this article. Does Newt's left ear appear pointed? Are they aliens, Romulan that is. His wife does keep her ears covered.

"....Gingrich should state clearly what is dishonest about Romney's campaign commercials other than not getting NBC's permission to use a segment from the Nightly News....."

Newt isn't going to do that because what Newt calls be dishonest is when someone quotes Newt's exact words or even worse, uses a video tape of him. Newt in this instance seems very similar to Half Gov. Palin. Cry baby blues.
