Obama: Jesus would back my tax-the-rich policy
    ===================================
Where are all the enraged libtards screaming about seperation of church and state? Why is Obama trying to force his religious beliefs down our throats? Yes, seperation of church and state unless Obama can use religion to sell his socialist snake oil. Just when you thought you'd seen and heard everything from this snake's mouth.

According to right wingnuts, the Christian thing to do is keep money off shore, evade taxes, envy workers' rights, attack the poor and minorities, eliminate consumer protections, invade countries on lies, occupy countries, eliminate religious freedom, and wage a war against a back president.

The President does not want to mention the word ‘Jesus’ too often. The Republican Bible thumpers and Cross Burners think that Jesus was American; and he was born somewhere south of the Dixie line.

Sounds nice. But Obama shows that he simply plucked out a couple verses that sound nice on their own and used them completely out of context. The scripture "to whom much is given, much is required" is referring to those who have been given the gospel truth. That because they are aware of what God's will is, that they are held to a higher standard and therefore if they choose not to do God's will that a greater punishment will be required than those who did not know God's will.

If you believe "even as you do unto the least of you, you do unto me" then there is nothing hypocritical about it. Too bad more filthy rich don't believe it! He's a Christian and not ASHAMED to say so.

Obama wants to allow the Bush tax cuts to expire for the richest Americans, and he has embraced the idea that wealthy Americans should not be paying a lower effective tax rate than those in the middle or lower classes.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________
But even the middle class and poor pay 15% on capital gains. It has nothing to do with rich or poor. It's not the nature of the investor. It's the nature of the investment. 15% is to encourage people to invest so that the economy recovers stronger and jobs are created.

Obama is trying to make this about rich or poor because this is his class distinction campaign strategy. Some Americans may be fooled, but not enough to give Obama a pass on the the results of hid first term.

How does a simple observation violate the separation of church and state?

...And Romney hates Poor people! FYI: this was said at a national prayer breakfast, and not even in those exact words, so of course Obama is going to quote versus. You idiots need to quit taking the media spin so seriously.

    GOP:

"What a minute! You can't play the religion card! That's our card!"

I consider myself agnostic. But I agree with the President's view on this.

It is time to take care of the engine of the economy, The middle class. The middle class will expand and many of the poor will gain middle class status. No more coddling the wealthy.

What capital gains to the middle class people have? Thanks to your village idiot from tx most of us lost a lot of money. We are lucky that the economy has improved but it will take a long time to recover all the lost money.
Your party of the rich and corporations are the ones that are not only making it a fight between rich and poor they are making sure the rich win! The heck with the rest of us.

the very rich rarely look back and as for helping others they give little compared to what hey actually have.to them the right thing is as they see it. they would do anything to protect their money because money is first and GOD is somewhere down the line. naked they came in this world and no amount of money can change the fact that they will leave it naked.

I am a big supporter of the president but I am very disappointed by his comment about Jesus "would back his tax -the- rich policy" I think Jesus doesn't support tax to any one but would like poor people and everyone to pray and do things by his willing so he can help.

Obama's history indicates he has made a career of division and he is a racist. He is now using religion for votes..but, remember he spent over 20 years sitting in a radical racist church that was very very political... This is obama, anything for votes..power, the destruction of capitalism...the only way to destroy capitalism is to promote collectivism. I believe the democratic party has been moved to the left to the extent that is is no longer just "the liberal party", it's been moved to marxist ideology(collectivism). Today the GOP is the liberal party...it is NOW center left (this is where Romney is). So a vote for the democrats TODAY is a vote for the destruction of America as we know it. So, study some history and the various forms of govt before you vote...because we are at a very important juncture and our children and grandchildren will live in the country we are about to change.

Not only is he absolutely right on, He will lose no support because of it. Though I must say that those who hated him before will become more intense now but their vote will be counted the same as when they just hated him. "Whatsoever you do to the least of these that you do unto me". There is not a lot of wiggle room there.

Or to put it another way check and see how many times birth control is mentioned by Jesus then check how many times helping the poor is mentioned by Jesus. One last thought while we are on the subject: The time Jesus spent on earth was full of events that would bake anybody really mad. Jesus is fully God and fully human mind you so he was not totally immune to getting rip roaring mad. So what ticked off the almighty? Being betrayed by a good friend? No, Being denied by his bets friend? No. Framed by the Pharasees ? nope, Whipped by the Romans?, nope. He let it all go. What made Jesus mad were the money changers at the Temple. Think about that America.

But this is fun to watch just to see the dynamics of politics.
Obama had to figure out a strategy that makes the 2012 General Election all about anything except his performance so far. It is abysmal and he will not win on that. He has gone all in on this class warfare strategy. And he's actually getting some takers.

I don't understand why so many people are against this. It affects the 'rich' those making 1 million a year, I am more than certain ALL of us commenting here do NOT fit that criteria... so why all the hate?

Is it just because he's a democrat. Can we please get past this partisanship and try to work together?

Quit trying to make things easier for those richer and higher in status than you, and try to have some self respect. The rich are human beings just like you, and they should contribute their share proportionate to how much they make, just like the rest of us.

They hide money in Swiss accounts, Caymans, etc. they use loopholes to avoid paying high taxes, and they use your stupidity to trick you into supporting them and their lavish lifestyles. They own multiple mansions while you struggle to pay the mortgage on your own home. Why should they be treated better than you? Are you really worth so little? Where is your sense of self-respect?

-And now here I go off ranting-

You act like subdued sheeple climbing over the suffering,, the pleas for help, and the corpses of your brothers and sisters so that you may reach a position where you will be able to better serve your 'masters'. Where is the dignity in doing this, I ask of you?

I miss the good old America where people looked out for their fellow man. Where along the trail of our country's history did that spirit of fellowship get lost?

President Obama made his point by using verses from the Bible but if you study the life of Jesus I think you'll find he spent his entire life lifting up those in need. He helped the poor and the sick. If Jesus was sitting in your living room, do you honestly think you could say to him that we should have tax cuts for the rich but will need to cut Medicaid for the poor is a good idea? Do you think he would support turning away patients with pre-existing conditions?
You might also find it shocking that Jesus was seen "palling around" with ladies of the night and other less than desirable folks.
Jesus was born and lived in the middle east and probably wasn't white. Conservatives of today would be calling him a Muslim terrorist and run him out of town.

Doesn't the Bible want us about the money changers? What kind of professions today would that be?

Hey, Four and the Door. Chances are those making under $50,000 a year have all they can do to pay the rent, put food on the table, and gas in their cars to get back and forth from work. It's doubtful they have any savings left to invest in Swiss or Cayman Island accounts, you know the accounts I'm speaking of - those "invest in America" accounts your guy Romney favors so much. As a "business owner" you ought to be the first to understand middle class survival vs middle class investment.

If obama truly means the statement he made at the prayer breakfast this morning why does he wait for the law to change to give 'to those who are less fortunate' from 'much' that he has.
Seems that he has millions and could lead by example and give from his excess to the poor.
Words are hollow but actions speak loud.
Like he said love your neighbor as you love yourself.
He can prove he spoke the truth.

So after Obama and the corrupt unions that own him create a whole bunch more poor, government dependent, dope addicts, where does he get the money to buy their votes? Where does this narcissist get off telling us Jesus is with him, when he and the democrat liberals are doing all they can to destroy religion and replace it with the SEIU? Perhaps his Vice President would want to give more than $189 a year to charity. What a bunch of phonies these demcrat liberals are. If a Republican said something this absolutely stupid, they would be criticized by the liberally biased media, watch how this inept, incompetent, corrupt union toady gets praised for it by them.
