Gingrich would support an Israeli attack on Iran

(CNN) - Asked what a Gingrich administration would do should Israel decided to strike Iran, the Republican presidential candidate said Friday he would offer support for the Jewish state.

"I would say, if you believe the survival of your country is at stake, what is it we could do to help you?" Gingrich said in an interview on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."

The potential event of an Israeli attack became all the more real on Thursday, when Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said there is a growing likelihood Israel could strike Iran sometime this spring in an effort to destroy a suspected nuclear weapons program, according to a senior administration official.

Gingrich criticized the Obama administration for "failing" to stop Iran from building a nuclear program.

If he were president, the former House speaker said he would urge Israel to stick with conventional weapons, rather than launch nuclear warfare. But he argued no American had "the moral right" to lecture an Israeli prime minister about "what risk he or she should take with the survival of their country."

"People should not kid themselves. The Israelis are not going to take the risk of a second holocaust. And that is exactly what (Iranian President Mahmoud) Ahmadinejad with a nuclear weapon represents," Gingrich said.

I support Israel, but let's not forget Israel was prepared to strike Iran when our U.S. men and women were in the direct path of being killed. I'm surprised at this great "so-called Historian" that Newt calls himself not knowing that our President wasn't lecturing Israel's prime minister but advising him the danger involved in killing U.S. military men and women who were fighting in and around Iraq. It's our President's "moral right" to protect our U.S. military just like Israel has a right to protect themselves, that's why he's our Commander in Chief. Let the facts speak for itself and the fact is Newt is wrong and certainly not worthy of being a Commander in Chief.

Put your money where your mouth is, Newtmare, and enlist in the Israeli army!

Newtmare does not attend security briefings, nor is he privy to high-level talks with Israeli and Iranian officials. He's flapping his lips to pander for votes – irresponsible at best, dangerous at worst.

    He should simply STFU.

As Isaac is not Ismail, it is the same for Jacob who is not Israel; he only took the name. One of the name of the Egyptian God: Is(is)RaEl(Osiris).
The upper side is considered to be in Israeli territories. The son and the feet are in Romania.
Prophet Moses is buried in Romania, at the spring of one of rivers called Someş, probably the cold one.
In that war to make possession of the World, there is a grave and outrageous interest to destroy a large amount of population and geophysical territories.
There is also a determination to completely destroy the state of Israel and its inhabitants just because the country has that name!

    How comforting.

Hey Newt, that nuclear facility and program was all but completed when Obama took office. You know, back when we were attacking Iraq for WMD's. We all knew when Bush 2 took office he had every intention of attacking Iraq. If Newt or Romney are elected it is clear today as it was when Bush 2 took office that if elected there will be a war somewhere. After all that darn Obama took 40 years of profits from Cheny's company, Haliburton. The war for profit bunch will be back in full swing under a republican President.

    The GOP way of politics:
    1. Get people scared…
    2. Shoot „preemptive“…
    3. Lives and deficits and domestic problems like "the stupid poor" don’t matter…!
    4. When all made their profit and the country is run of the cliff, get a Democrat to fix it.
    5. Then step aside and blame him/her for not fixing the country fast enough.
    6. When things improve, plot the next round!

    President Obama 2012!

Ginrich is such an ignorant person. Gingrich would send conventional weapons and ground troops in a war with Iran.Bush did that in Afghanistan and Iraq and we all know how that worked out. The United States is now broke monetarily due toe the Republican WARS, Tax cuts for the RICH, Unfunded drug plans and just plain stupidiness by the Republicans. Israel will ask the U.S. to back them up in a ground war. I dont have a problem with going to war, if you do it correctly. The only rule when at war, is, that there are no rules. We should use as few ground troops as possible. There should be No buildings still standing in any given city. Do you remember HIROSHIMA. I do.That works quite well but the U.S. unfortunately has lost its will to really win wars.

Was Bush successful in stoping North Korea from Nuelcear arms race? No, he was an utter failure. Similarly, Newt and Romney can keep on taking about all their statements to stop Iran from nueclear activities, they won't be able to do anything which is not being done by Obama. You cannot keep on attacking various countries because they have different beliefs that you do. Also, why should USA have Nueclear Arms and not allow other countries to develop those? If USA wants the Nueclear Arms race to stop, then it should get rid of its own programs and destroy all nueclear arms.

Just like a real man moving from woman to woman to woman when the going gets though. I am sure, except that you are not privy to the reall important issues going on behind closed doors, that we are doing all we can to stop the nuclear build up of weapons in Iran along with any other sane country but you wouldn't know sane if it played the tuba!
The President nor any other world nation can stop Iran from doing whatever they want to do. The shrub tried that and look at the mess he started in the middle east.
Nice of you to think that Israeli lives are less worthy than any other lives. You are so freakin' delusional and think so much of yourself that you can't think straight anymore. Typical rethug, raise those kids to be send to war to be killed. That's the teapublikan way.
