Bachmann says she was the ‘perfect candidate’

(CNN) - She may have dropped her bid for the presidential nomination, but Michele Bachmann is still adamantly pushing her conservative credentials.

Asked by Bloomberg TV’s Al Hunt to name the most conservative candidate remaining in the 2012 race, Bachmann responded by plugging herself.

"I was. I was the perfect candidate," Bachmann said. "America had their chance with the perfect candidate. But any of our candidates are going to be acceptable to the American people. More than acceptable, because right now, if you look at the Gallup map that came out this week, President Obama is in big trouble all across the country."

Bachmann’s assertion that she was the prefect candidate ultimately comes too late – the Minnesota congresswoman dropped out of the 2012 GOP race in January after finishing sixth in Iowa, the state where she was born.

She announced last week that she would seek re-election for her seat in Congress.

She'd be perfect if there was a push for letting insane people run for president.

Your answer, Michele, is not relevant to the question asked of you. Get real, lady, you are not who voters thought was the most perfect. Are you planning to get back into the race? Maybe in 2016? That would be interesting!

  3. IT'S TIME FOR CNN TO ....

... put the Michelle Bachmann coverage to rest once and for all. Her "sell by" date has long since expired.

She is that booger that you can't flick off of your finger after numerous attempts. As long as her god keeps telling her what to do, she will continue to be one of Minnesota's most delusional citizens, period.

Another republican who thinks, "because I said it, it's true." The party of facts-don't-need-to-be-considered.

It would serve her right if her home district did not re-elect her to congress. She is only the perfect candidate in her own mind and we know there is very little in that mind to begin with. The American people can be stupid at times but thank god we are not THAT stupid.

These people equate maximum conservatism with "perfection". And the media continually feeds their delusion.

Not sure what poll she is actually referring to, the polls I have seen have Obama winning by 4% of the vote.

How can she think she was the perfect candidate, as I've said from the start, when she had an anti-government tea party rally on the steps of the capitol building and then thought it would be a good idea to run as our president. The cluelessness is stunning.

I wouldn't be surprised if she loses her bid for re-election this year. Nobody likes arrogance....well...except for South Carolina.
