(CNN) - She may have dropped her bid for the presidential nomination, but Michele Bachmann is still adamantly pushing her conservative credentials.
Asked by Bloomberg TV’s Al Hunt to name the most conservative candidate remaining in the 2012 race, Bachmann responded by plugging herself.

"I was. I was the perfect candidate," Bachmann said. "America had their chance with the perfect candidate. But any of our candidates are going to be acceptable to the American people. More than acceptable, because right now, if you look at the Gallup map that came out this week, President Obama is in big trouble all across the country."
Bachmann’s assertion that she was the prefect candidate ultimately comes too late – the Minnesota congresswoman dropped out of the 2012 GOP race in January after finishing sixth in Iowa, the state where she was born.
She announced last week that she would seek re-election for her seat in Congress.

"The perfect candidate. Apart from people not wanting to vote for you. Minor problem."
Aaaaand, thread over in one. So well said. Please step forward to collect your internetz.
Also, thanks to CNN for giving me something to larf about today. Michelle's particular brand of looniness and disconnected-from-reality-ness is (fortunately) a rare thing.
She hates gov but seems to want to be there as much as she can. Oh yeah, the benefits are great too... for congress that is.
I here so much about candidate claiming to be conservative .. just think for one moment if our own civilization took that road we would be stile living in mud-grass hut and traveling on dirt trail. Think God we had liberal thinker like president Eisernhouser to produce endless highway and byways so we can travel all over country without every toughing the ground. Bless.
She said if elected president, she'll build a double fence along the entire border by 2013. Is this woman living in a fantasy world!
She was a fine candidate and she is perfectly beautiful as a lady! Would make a fine cabinet member.
Yes I know. And the Jets were the perfect Super Bowl team for this year just as Rex Ryan he will tell you.
I haven't read one positive post about her here, says a lot.
Why didn't the voters vote for perfection?
A Shäwn Hännity simpleton leading question;
Could it be she is not so perfect after all?
And the fantasy continues...
Perfect in so many ways. Just like Barbie.
"She hates gov but seems to want to be there as much as she can. Oh yeah, the benefits are great too... for congress that is."
Ditto that for Mr. Tim Pawlenty as well. He's running around like a chicken without it's head while publicly begging for a seat in a (mythical) Romney administration. Probably has more to do with the fact these two egomaniacs are unemployable in the "private" sector than anything else. Kind of gives a whole new meaning to their smaller government mantra as they both continue their own quest of continual employment opportunities and benefits in the government they both so despise.
It's OK to think you're "perfect" and it's OK the voters didn't find that same perfection, so get over it.
She would make a fine cabinet member? A perfect candidate? She could head the "Faith Healing Dept" and appoint her husband to "Quack in Chief".
Perfect? Well, if perfection is measured in the times a candidate puts her foot into her mouth, well, yes, she could be considered (almost) perfect. Pretty much every time she opened her mouth, something dumb came out. Given more time and opportunity to voice her "imbeciliness" she would certainly get closer and closer to the 100% margin of "total BS"
so this "perfect candidate" isn't even going to be able to hold on to her MN seat!! so crazy!
she may still be able to secure a place in Newt's cabinet on his moon colony!?
Hey Minnesotians, leave electing the crazies up to Alaska. Snow Snookie is more than enough. Thanx.
Speaking in the past tense means you are still stucked and can't let go of the feeling of defeat and shame.
I was the perfect candidate.
I use to be the perfect candidate
I could have been the perfect candidate.
Sarah Palin + Miclelle Bachman = CRAZY people ! I bet they are facebook friends.
Think God we had liberal thinker like president Eisernhouser to produce endless highway and byways so we can travel all over country without every toughing the ground. Bless.

Yes, I agree madam! Republican President "Eisenhouser" was a visionary!
Now can I interest you in a nice bottle of the finest Obama snake oil? One sip and you'll believe that I, the great Barack, created the highways and not that "Eisenhouser" guy. Yes, cures ALL forms of honesty and gout!
Evidently, she wasn't so perfect, else she'd have received a lot more votes. She doesn't appear to understand that a candidate's level of "perfection" is determined by voters, not by the candidate themselves (christ, what a freakin' ego on this woman!). RE: her re-election, it's not much of a stretch to imagine that Minn state Repub officials have made sure the boundaries of her district have been adjusted to guarantee a victory. Most unfortunate, as it means we'll be subject to her inane bleating for another two years. Honestly, voters in this district, you want this nitwit representing you? She's an embarrassment. Open your freakin' eyes and ears.
She was the perfect candidate to get Obama reelected.
Bachmann lives within a powerful reality distortion field. She got used to hearing herself talk in public, used to the media spotlight ... in essence, she now believes she's important and her opinions matter.
They don't.
