Obama campaign returning contributions from donors tied to fugitive

Chicago (CNN) - The reelection campaign of President Barack Obama said Tuesday it plans to return about $200,000 in donations collected by two Chicago men after a newspaper report described their brother as a fugitive with alleged links to violence and corruption in Mexico.

"More than 1.3 million Americans have donated to the campaign and we constantly review those contributions for any issues. On the basis of the questions that have been raised, we will return the contributions from these individuals and from any other donors they brought to the campaign," Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt said.

    Well done Mr. President!
I am also heartened to hear that you will accept contributions from Super Pacs. It made no sense to me once the SC made it's decision (however much I disagreed with said decision) for you to be the only one not benefitting from something that has not been reversed.
    Obama 2012.

Ah, the Chicago Mob gets tied to their illicit activities, so they think they can wish it away, by just returning some campaign donations??????

That connection is still there......and it isn't going away.

I wonder if campaign finance laws would allow him to donate this money to charity instead? Not sure he can, but it would be a nice gesture.

This was a setup. Good job Mr President for return about $200,000 in donations collected by two Chicago men after a newspaper report described their brother as a fugitive with alleged links to violence and corruption in Mexico. Smell like a setup. People will dig and dig trying to fine something on President Obama to use against him to stop his relection.

The disrespect shown to our president, has me embarassed to be an American! People need to get over their BS... The president is the coolest, down to earth one we have ever had... I for one would like to say, GET OFF HIS BACK!!!.... TEAM OBAMA...
