(CNN) – Rick Perry may "absolutely" run for president again and described the debates in the 2012 primary as good practice.
The Texas governor, who suspended his White House bid last month, also had positive memories about his presidential campaign.

"I tell people it was by far the most exhilarating thing that I've ever done," Perry told ABC News. "In a perfect world we would have started a lot earlier."
After an initial surge in national polling, Perry failed to gain traction and was plagued by less than stellar debate performances.
But Perry, now a Newt Gingrich backer, said the debates "have absolutely nothing to do with governing." When asked if they were good practice for 2016, Perry responded "Ya, could be."
The long serving governor also pushed back against labeling Romney the inevitable GOP nominee.
"I think this race is completely open," Perry said. "I don't think anyone's got a lock on it at this particular point in time."
Playing political adviser, Perry opined that Romney should have changed his tune on the health care plan he signed while governor of Massachusetts that resembles the current national plan.
"I'd have said listen governor, you've got to stand up in front of the American people and say that what you did on health care in Massachusetts was wrong and he never did that," Perry said.

Unfortunately, our state seems to attract Bushes, Perrys, and many pious Christians who sing loudly in the church choir Sunday then screw everyone the other six days a week and have no conscience........... " It`s just business" justifies everything. ....... A state full of hypocrites.
@Taran – wow, nice little IRRELEVANT "sound bite"! Why is it that the folks like you can't put up a constructive comment or continue reasonable debate about anything you don't believe in. Socialism? Been around for some time dude, and in the US for 50+ yrs. You should be commenting on the level of socialism, not that it exists in the Dem party. The flip side (there's ALWAYS a counterpoint) is that the GOP is only in the hunt to give back to all their 1% donors, who are in the business of making HUGE money (increasing shareholder value) regardless of the impact to the country, shipping jobs to the lowest bidder, and generally screwing over the population – all in the name of capitalism. Nothing wrong with success, but when you make $40M+ a year, how much more do you REALLY need to be "well off"?? How about paying your fair share? How about putting the $115k+ a year – and the incredible healthcare benefits that a 1-term Congress-person gets FOR LIFE – back into the coffers. How about paying back the $2.3 TRILLION owed to Social Security instead of dismantling it (which GOP wants to do)! Lot's of choices, but nothing concrete from the GOP yet!
"This clown should not be Gov. of Texas let alone the Prez." Well said, Mike.
Ponder no longer, Rick. "Perry in 2020" kinda has a ring to it & by then SNL might be looking for material. Til then, how's about running for dogcatcher in Waco?
Why wouldn't he run again. Free vacation, free travel, free meals, free money thrown at him.
Why? Is he planning to add 60 IQ points?
Santorum won't win Romney will win the nomination and will beat Obama no way for him!!!! we will vote for Romney!!!!
Cain/Perry 2016........the dream ticket of comedians worldwide.
You better get back to school right away, maybe by 2016 you'll sound a little brighter, on the other hand maybe not. I'm glad he has found memories, my memories of him are a nightmare.
This is a joke, right?
I think we've all learned the folly of electing Texans to the white house. Go away Perry
YES!!!!!! Good ole rick made this the most memorable republican primary ever. I have no doubt that he could take it up another notch. BAM!
The Republicans want anybody but Romney – But, when he clinches the nomination in a few months – they will either rally around Romney – or they will stay home, and Not Vote – but believe me, they may Say they will stay home – But they Will end up Voting for Romney. Take that to the bank.
"At this particular point in time" is a phrase that adds nothing to a sentence and is used by dummies who think it makes them sound smart. Re-read Perry's sentence with and without that phrase: "I don't think anyone's got a lock on it at this particular point in time."
Sounds like Parry is pulling a Palin: Float rumors you may run to get suckers to donate to your PAC, whose donations you can then use for personal expenses.
Obama/Biden 2012
You would have thought that once the Village in Texas got their idiot back they would have put a muzzle on him...
@Taran
"The American people will never knowlingly adopt socialism. But under the name of 'Liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened"

This is a paraphrase of many quotes – all far more relevant than your sound bite from hate radio:
"When fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."

Cool, a new word to confabulate conservatives with. Learn something new everyday. It's a perfect description.
I can't wait. This joker is the male equivilant of Sarah Palin. All ego, no brains, totally self absorbed and a clear inability to demonstrate any critical thinking skills. Running around acting like fools and espousing ridiculous lies and half truths may get a rise from the remaining 20% of the loonies, but it does not hold water with the rest of the nation. Good luck there Gov!
Let him run!! When he loses we would be rid of him here in Texas. He doesn't care anything about Texas or America just himself.
Confabulation. Well if that doesn't explain the rants and reality sabbaticals of people like Truth and Nothing but the Truth nothing else will.
Obama 2012.
"Why? Is he planning to add 60 IQ points?"
I'm pretty sure that would only qualify him for McDonald's.
Please.... Oh, Please Rick mount a come-back! This country needs a little some comic relief more than ever now.
Reagan's hair, Bush's swagger and smirk, Palin's intellect - the perfect republican.

Well it is refreshing to see at least ONE honest socialist on this Board! All the others still are in standard operating mode for socialists, ie. deny that it exists in the USA.
BTW, the ONLY reason it CAN exist in the USA is because of the vast wealth and prosperity that capitalism has created. It is a MAGNET for socialists ot try and confiscate, redistribute and us efor their own purposes. Name ONE socialist system that succeeded when it didn't start with all the money in a capitalist system. Even Communist China finally realized the error of their ways and started capitalism in a limited form which has fuked its growth.
Truth is socialism is a FAILURE when it tries to stand on its own.
