(CNN) – A national anti-abortion activist group announced its support Friday of Rick Santorum for the Republican presidential nomination.
The endorsement is the first time the Susan B. Anthony List has backed a candidate in a GOP primary, according to the organization.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of SBA List, said despite their "pro-life" commitments, none of the other White House hopefuls have shown the "record of consistent leadership" Santorum has on abortion.
"Among the field of strong pro-life candidates in the GOP primary, one stands out as a proven leader in this great human and civil rights cause of our time. Rick Santorum communicates the vision and has exhibited the strategic and tactical prowess the pro-life movement must have in order to succeed," Dannenfelser said in a statement.

...all the more reason why this guy will never win. Fanatical theocratic thought has no place in American politics. In Iran, Saudi Arabia, yes. Not here
None of these idiotic Republicans are worth my time....o.k, Until they change their thinking spectrum, it is hard for people to believe these religion minded zealotry idiots of GOP. True, true, true, and true.
PS: nation is on right track, and going in right direction. I am glad, STOP Act Passed.
Susan B Anthony????? And in what century did she die? A clue: it's about today's real women, and Stefford Wives need that clue most of all.
Wow – they don't have a clue how he trashes us woman – time to report it I guess huh?
Did you expect anything less????
Bring on the culture wars! (a sure sign the GOBP deathcult is running on fumes and lacks any useful ideas to help the poor and middle class).
Santorum and the anti-choice folks advocate government tyranny. The government has no business dictating the reproductive decisions of women.
Crazy is as crazy does. Not surprising. Women's lives have no business on his own agenda.
These people need some Bayer aspirin for their headache
So an anti-women group backs Santorum, no surprise there.
I'm glad the headline doesn't say 'pro-life', because those people don't care if you live or die after you're born.
They have no answers on the impvoing economy so they have to use social wedge issues to keep their nutbag righwingers voting for them. All good, these idiots will get trashed in the general.
Santorum and company ,
One angry fascist , do as i say , not as i do !
This is interesting because Santorum's wife had an abortion. OH no, you say, it's different. Not so. My wife's friend needed the same procedure and the Catholic hospital she was in would not perform the procedure because it was technically an abortion. She had to go to a non-Catholic hospital for the procedure.
I don't see how the woman Susan B. Anthony would have accepted this group that opposes abortion. I don't know if there was even abortion then. I wonder why this group chose her other than she is a fighter for women's rights.
Really i'am shocked! He can get all the suport he wants from these right wing fringe groups ,I don;t care, it makes no difference..
OOPS
It's legal, and has been for over 40 years. Imagine that. 40 years of NOT having to use a coat-hanger after being raped.
