CNN: Angry lawmakers challenge lineup at hearing: 'Where are the women?'
The excuse that was postulated about the Democrats not submitting a list of witnesses in a timely fashion was pretty weak. This really smells like the chairman had his witnesses lined up before announcing the hearings. People need to time to round up witnesses, check schedules, etc. All of this on a couple of days notice. Then, adopt a hard line position that no late witnesses would be accepted, that topics will focus on the administration overstepping its' bounds, etc. All of this smells a whole lot like McCarthy's communist hearings back in the 1950s.
