Strident attacks continue on eve of GOP debate

(CNN) - On the eve of the last debate before crucial primaries, Republican presidential challengers Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich battled for conservative support by targeting President Barack Obama in increasingly strident attacks Tuesday.

Santorum told a crowd in Arizona, which will hold its primary with Michigan on February 28, that Obama and liberals consider the U.S. Constitution an out-of-date document for modern times.

Ron Paul is the only veteran in this Republican debate. What deferments did the rest of you have who did not serve in the military during the Vietnam War?

What has made America great has been the melting pot of cultures. Look at the greatest American scientific discoveries and you will see that a large number of them were discovered by recent immigrants, who came here seeking freedom to pursue their visions.

What has made America great has been the farmers, the inventors, the entreprenuers, not the capitalists seeking to make a buck on the work of others.

The constitution also supported slavery and believed blacks counted as 1/3 of a man. Also that women couldn't vote and whites and blacks couldnt drink from the same fountain or go to school together.
The majority of people voted in favor of this too. Just because it was written doesnt mean it is correct. And especially if it was written hundreds of years ago. Times and cultures change. Societies progress and laws develop differently beyond the atmospheres in which they were written. Same goes for the Bible, the Quran, and any other book written by man to keep society in order. We dont live in the stone or dark or bronze ages. We understand now that there really isnt a God of water or fire or air. Zeus? Really? This is the reality folks and if we stuck by those old laws (even when the majority of people were in favor) we wouldnt have the President we have in office now. America's founding document wasnt perfect. Cars werent invented. Internet. Phones. Electricity. Nuclear Power. And just a few hundred years before that, they still thought the Earth was flat.

These guys really want us to go back to living in the 50's or something. And about Newt attacking Obama... If I recall, Obama has taken out much of the AlQueda leadership, including BinLaden. I will take that over Bush ignoring reports of BinLaden potentially using planes to attack a major US city. The idiocracy shown from the Right is just astounding.

Each and every last one of them wants to return to trickle-down, boom-and-bust economic tax policies. Well, all of them except for Ron Paul. He gives Libertarianism a bad name.

Yes....Perhaps he's right. If the original constitution was completely infallible , then let's go back to having only men vote and count black folks as 3/5 of a person.

Santorum is running for Pope (Ayatollah) and Gingrich is running for King of the World. So that leaves the Presidency safely in the hands of the good man who was elected by a majority to occupiy that position.
